Now, Dr. Fauci has been catapulted to unprecedented levels of fame during these last twelve months.
As the COVID-19 pandemic ground the globe to a halt, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, became the trusted voice in the United States in separating fact from fiction.
Dr. Fauci has worked for over thirty years in the field of medicine…
And has handled crises such as HIV, SARS, MERS, Ebola, and even the nation’s 2001 experience with bioterrorism, the anthrax attacks.
For the COVID-19 pandemic, he has thrown himself into his role with gusto…
Despite being in the high-risk category for catching the virus at the age of seventy-nine.
Many have labeled Dr. Fauci as our nation’s hero during these dark times…
So it hasn’t come as too much of a surprise to hear of his appearance in an upcoming children’s book.
Simon & Schuster is releasing Dr. Fauci: How a Boy from Brooklyn Became America’s Doctor, written by Kate Messner and illustrated by Alexandra Bye, on June 29th.
The story book is said to chronicle both the doctor’s life and provide information on vaccines for children.
A blurb on the book, which is now available for pre-order, calls it the “definitive picture book biography” for Dr. Fauci, reading:
“Extensive backmatter rounds out Dr. Fauci’s story with a timeline, recommended reading, a full spread of facts about vaccines and how they work, and Dr. Fauci’s own tips for future scientists.”
According to the description, Messner interviewed Fauci himself for the book…
Which follows the doctor through his Brooklyn childhood, medical school, and career working with 7 U.S. presidents to tackle the nation’s biggest public health crises.
On Sunday, Messner revealed the cover of the picture book on Twitter…
And it’s needless to say, people are absolutely loving it.
