Drake Bell has been charged with crimes against a child.

Breaking news, Drake Bell has been charged with crimes against a child.

But first…

We first met Drake as, well, Drake, on the set of Drake & Josh.

He had a huge career.

Alongside his co-star, Josh Peck, Drake appeared in every episode across the show’s 4 seasons, and each and every one was a roaring success.

Drake is also a musician and managed to release his first 2 albums, Telegraph and It’s Only Time while filming the show.

His third album, Ready Set Go! arrived in 2014…

And, in February last year, he released The Lost Album, which included songs from a missing hard drive that were originally supposed to be a follow-up to his 2006 album.

He accumulated a modest fanbase over the years…

And, as it stands, has a following of 4.3 million on Instagram.

And it recently emerged that Drake had actually relocated to Mexico.

But then things got kinda weird.

Safe to say, fans don’t know what to think after hearing the whole story.

The star changed his Twitter and Instagram handles to “Drake Campana”…

Making people come to the conclusion that he had legally changed his surname.

He also posted videos where he spoke in fluent Spanish…

As well as captioning all social media posts in the language.

Which, once translated into English, explains that his social networks would only be in Spanish, adding “no more English.”

Of course, people have been very confused by the whole thing.

And why has he changed his name and his language?

Despite posting a photo of a seemingly photoshopped Mexican license, the musician posted a video as part of a promotion with Cameo in which he introduced himself as “Drake Bell.”

Well, maybe the Mexican life had always been a big dream of his.

The latest news however is very dark.

After it emerged that Drake had been charged with crimes against a child.

He was charged in Cleveland, Ohio.

With attempted child endangerment and disseminating material harmful to children.

He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

And was released after posting a $2,500 bond and agreeing to not have contact with the alleged victim.

Prosecutors said that Mr. Bell engaged in a conversation with a 15-year-old girl that was at times sexual in nature.

An investigation by the Cleveland Police Department also revealed that Mr. Bell had sent the girl inappropriate social media messages in the months before the show, the prosecutors said.

The felony child endangerment charge carries a sentence of up to 18 months in prison.

The second charge is punishable by up to 180 days in jail…
