Drake has come under fire for his friendship with Millie Bobby Brown when she was younger.
And now, the star has finally hit back at the criticism.
He opened up in a new song.
Understandably, it’s got everyone talking.
Scroll on to see what he had to say…
We all know him!
Aubrey Drake Graham, known best by his stage name “Drake”, is a rapper, singer, actor, and producer.
After releasing his first mixtape titled, Room for Improvement, his music career was officially launched.
And 3 years after his initial release, he started promoting his third mixtape So Far Gone which saw him gain lots of commercial success.
A year later, Drake released his first album Thank Me Later, which went on to be nominated for a Grammy.
Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar helped Drake produce the album.
And it received mainly positive reviews.
For a new rapper on the scene, he did well.
Over the next decade, Drake established his legacy in the music industry.
How? By releasing banger after banger and most of them ended up in the top 10 on every single chart.
You’ve heard ‘Just Hold On, We’re Going Home’, right?
It’s one of those chill car songs for a summer evening.
But that’s not all!
A lot of people forget that Drake actually started out as an actor.
He did several commercials before securing a permanent role.
Did you know this little-known fact?
In 2001, Drake landed a role in Degrassi: The Next Generation.
He was commended for playing a basketball star in a wheelchair after he was shot by a classmate.
His music is very popular with the younger generation, in particular.
As they appreciate his ability to discuss raw and sensitive topics, from the child he tried to keep a secret all the way to his faith in God.
After taking a little break from music to enjoy some free time, he made a sudden return to the scene.
With new tracks, including ‘When to Say When’.
But that release got a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons.
In the song, there is a lyric that reads: “Baby mama fluke, but I love her for who she is.” Many have said this line is “disrespectful” and “sleazy”, as he is implying that having a child with this woman was a mistake.
At least he says he loves her, right?
He explains how he loves them both unconditionally and has previously also mentioned how he wants to be part of his son’s life.
In fact, Drak’es entire relationship with his son is a little bit problematic.
Keep scrolling for the details on that …
But fans have also targeted something else of his…
And it’s got to do with one of his Instagram posts.
In 2018, Drake’s dad, Dennis, got a tattoo of his famous son on his arm.
A Toronto-based artist, called Inal Bersekov, touched up the tattoo and even shared a before and after photo on Instagram.
But unfortunately, the original tattoo artist was less than impressed with the tattoo.
Which caused major drama.
Money Mike, the tattoo artist behind Dennis’ original inking, revealed the real reason why the Drake tattoo wasn’t up to scratch…
He said Dennis was in so much pain at the 4-hour mark that he rushed Mike to wrap up the job as quickly as possible.
The tattooist recently confessed that Dennis initially loved the piece, until Drake saw it…
He said: “Once Drake saw the tat everything changed.”
His star son was quick to repost a photo of it onto social media recently.
But it’s what he said along with the photo that’s got everyone thinking ‘what a son’…
On August 8, Drake posted a portrait of himself inked onto his dad’s arm on Instagram with an eye-opening caption of course…
“I was just sitting here thinking why you do me like this we family,” he wrote.
Obviously, Dennis responded to his son’s hilarious caption.
“Hahaha I had 16 people to try and straighten this out, they’re hurting me,” he said.
And added a cute “I love you and miss you” soon after.
And aside from that photo, another one of Drake’s posts caught the attention of the internet…
And it seriously made many question the star’s lavish lifestyle.
Reposting Drake’s Instagram video, in which he showed off his new piece of wrist candy, a Twitter user commented on the appearance of his hands…
“Drake hands look like he’s never touched an inconvenience in his life,” she wrote.
This didn’t take long to go viral, with thousands of people retweeting the post, and many throwing their own jokes at the rapper…
“Those are the hands of a French diplomat,” one person wrote. While a second person added: “Man got the hands of an heiress.”
But then, Drake hit headlines for another reason.
He showed the internet his new necklace — with a rather significant meaning.
The necklace is called “Previous Engagements.”
And it consists of forty-two diamonds which is reportedly representative of the forty-two times Drake has considered proposing to a girlfriend.
It was created by celebrity jeweler Alex Moss.
And the forty-two stones count for 351.38 carats in diamonds.
The diamonds are also set in 18K white gold.
Drake debuted it at Lil Baby’s birthday concert in Atlanta last Saturday at State Farm Arena.
Drake’s son Adonis was born back in 2017.
But since then, the pair’s relationship has been very strained.
After the child’s birth, Drake initially refused to acknowledge his child.
He even questioned the paternal claims of his son’s mother, former adult star, Sophie Brussaux.
Brussaux even blasted the rapper as a lousy dad.
But since a paternity test proved he was the dad, Drake has really stepped up.
“I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid,” he rapped in Emotionless.
“Breakin’ news in my life I don’t run to the blogs/ The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call.”
“Single father, I hate when I hear it / I used to challenge my parents on every album / Now I’m embarrassed to tell them I ended up as a coparent,” he continues.
“Always promised the family unit / I wanted it to be different because I’ve been through it / But this is the harsh truth now.”
Drake and Sophie are not romantically involved, but have made the decision to co-parent their kid.
And Adonis even makes regular appearances on Drake’s social media.
Drake’s father Dennis previously spoke to Us Weekly about the pair’s relationship.
“I’ve seen them interact together, and it’s beautiful.”
Although Drake does make a conscious effort to keep his son out of the public eye, he has made a recent appearance on the rapper’s Instagram.
And fans can’t believe what he looks like now!
But this week, Drake has hit the headlines for a different reason.
His friendship with Millie Bobby Brown has been thrust into the spotlight once again.
Drake addressed criticism in a song from his most recent album, “For All The Dogs.”
“Weirdos in my comments talkin’ ’bout some Millie Bobby, look,” he raps in the song. “Bring them jokes up to the gang, we get to really flockin’ / Or send a finger to your mama in some FedEx boxes / Open up that sh*t, it’s jaw droppin’, really shockin.'”
In 2018, Brown disclosed that she and the rapper had started messaging often after meeting and becoming friends when she was 14.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Brown said he was “a great friend and a great role model” who would give advice about “boys,” adding that the contents “stays in the text messages.”
People had a lot to say about his song, with one writing: “I wouldn’t want my 15 years old daughter befriending a 31 years old guy or girl. For what?!”
While another added: “Yes, Im the weirdo for thinking it’s weird that a grown man is texting a 14 year old about boys and other personal things that she did not want to talk about.”
What do you think?
