It's that time of the year again - Forbes have released their highest-paid list, shedding light on the paychecks of some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, between June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019.
It's been a pretty big year for the cinema, with huge hits such as Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born, Avengers: Endgame, and Captain Marvel raking in the big bucks at the global box office.
The latest report from Forbes, released yesterday, tallies up both the on-screen and off-screen earnings, pretax and other fees, to reveal the top earners in the industry.
Last years' list saw George Clooney take the top spot, but it seems like he's been knocked off the list altogether this year, with Dwayne Johnson taking the crown.

10. Will Smith
via: GettyKicking off the list is Will Smith. The actor, who was born on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began life wanting to rap, going on to form a rap duo with his friend, Jeff Townes, at age sixteen, named DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
We all know how he got his acting breakthrough...Smith's big acting break came in the early '90s with the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which propelled the actor to worldwide stardom. Since, the star has gone onto feature in a number of box office hits, including Men in Black, I Am Legend, and, more recently, starring alongside Margot Robbie in Focus and Disney's live-action Aladdin.

9. Paul Rudd
via: GettyNext up is Paul Rudd, born April 6, 1969, in New Jersey. Rudd made his acting debut in the early '90s, starring as Kirby Quimby Philby in the 1992 television drama, Sisters.
But the star made his breakout as a teen heartthrob, although you'll also recognize him as Ant-Man...In 1995, Rudd took on his breakout role in the 1995 chick-flick Clueless, but, 2 decades later, the star also joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe starring as Ant-Man in the popular superhero franchise.

8. Chris Evans
via: GettyIt's probably no surprise that Evans has made the list - he is Captain America after all. Born onk June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, long before joining MCU, the star launched his career on the 2000 television series Opposite Sex.
In 2011, he joined the Marvel superhero empire.The actor joined the franchise in Captain America: The First Avenger, and went on to join Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, and other big-names, for the international blockbuster, The Avengers (2012). And, well, it was all up from there really.

7. Adam Sandler
via: GettyThe comedy-native, born September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, started out his comedy and acting career as a regular on MTV's Remote Control and on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
He became a household name for his role this movie...The star featured in several comedies throughout the '90s including The Wedding Singer, Billy Madison, and, of course, most notoriously, 1996's Happy Gilmore. The actor has shown no signs of slowing down either, starring in more recent comedies including Grown-Ups, The Do-Over, and Murder Mystery.

6. Bradley Cooper

Born 5 January 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the actor began his successful on-screen career with a guest spot on Sex and the City. He's since gone on to star in may '00s classics such as Wedding Crashers, Yes Man,, and The Hangover.
But one film has accounted for most of his earnings...Despite voicing Rocket Raccoon in Avengers, the actor can thank A Star Is Born for seventy percent of his hefty paycheck. The movie saw Cooper step into directorial shoes and co-star along singing sensation Lady Gaga. The star took a risk, which appears to have massively paid off as the movie, which had a production budget of only $36 million, grossed a staggering $435 million worldwide.

5. Jackie Chan
via: GettyBorn 7 April 1954 in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong, Chan had an early start to many of his talents, including studying drama, martial arts, and singing at just age 7. After graduation, Chan found work as a movie stuntman, most notably featuring in Fist of Fury (1972), starring alongside Hong Kong's big-screen superstar, Bruce Lee.
He's established himself as the king of Hong Kong cinema.Chan picked up where Bruce Lee had left off, starring in a number of hits including '80s comedy, The Cannonball Run, the 1996 hit, Rumble in the Bronx, and of course, Rush Hour and the 2010 reboot of The Karate Kid. The star also curated his own movie empire, forming his own production company, Golden Way.

4. Akshay Kumar
via: GettyRajiv Hari Om Bhatia, known professionally as Akshay Kumar, was born on September 9, 1967, in Amritsar, India. The Indian-born Canadian actor, producer, television personality has gone on to well and truly dominate the world of Bollywood.
We aren't too surprised to see him on the list.In 2018, the award-winning actor featured in some of the highest-grossing films of the year, including Rajinikanth's sci-fi movie, 2.0, and sports drama, Gold. In 2019 so far, Kumar has already featured in the commercially successful Kesari and, most recently, Mission Mangal, which is currently in theatres.

3. Robert Downey Jr.
via: GettyNow we're into the top 3 earners, and kicking off with third place is Robert Downey Jr. Born April 4, 1965, in Manhattan, New York, the actor kick-started his career as a cast member on Saturday Night Live in the '80s. However, sadly, much of his success has been tinged with years of substance abuse. After being introduced to drugs at just 8 years old by his father, the Hollywood A-lister developed a full-blown addiction as he approached his twenties. Despite his attempts to get clean (including various stints in rehab), his drug addiction and brushes with the law would continue on and off throughout his career.
Downey joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008.The star played the industrialist-turned-crime fighter, Tony Stark, in Marvel's iconic hit, Iron Man - a role which has skyrocketed him to box office fame.

2. Chris Hemsworth

The Marvel universe has dominated this year's list...The Australian actor has made quite a name for himself as Thor in the superhero franchise, starring in several films under the title and other features such as The Avengers.

1. Dwayne Johnson
via: GettyDwayne Johnson knocks last year's winner, George Clooney, well and truly off the top spot, taking the crown for the top earner of the year. Born May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California, into a professional wrestling family, it was inevitable that Johnson would also follow in the same footsteps, entering the ring with the World Wrestling Federation as "The Rock" - going on to win the world heavyweight champion title on multiple occasions.
But his career also spanned film.Aside from the ring, the star launched a successful acting career, making his first huge breakthrough as the Scorpion King in 2001's The Mummy Returns. Now the star commands much of the global box office, with more recent cinematic wins including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Fast & Furious 6, and 7, under his belt.
