A fourth fan brought up his eldest daughter Lyra, who is now almost 2, sharing how good a big sister she will be: “Omg. Congratulations Ed and Cherry. Lyra will be the best big sister ever to your little baby girl.”

Ed and Cherry, who met in school, became first-time parents back in 2020 when they welcomed their eldest daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.

The announcement was similar to their latest, with Ed posting a photo of socks on his Instagram, along with the caption: “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.”

Explaining their first daughter’s choice of name, Ed told British TV presenter Lorraine in 2021: “I realize some people think it’s quite a strange name.

“But my wife’s called Cherry, and she is the only Cherry that I’ve ever met, and I think that she’s the only Cherry that she’s ever met, and I quite like that. In my class at school, there were probably more Eds.” Adding that they “just wanted to give her a name that was unique, so that she would be the only one.”

Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what they’ve named their new addition, but you can check out their sweet post here.

Congratulations to Ed and Cherry!
