The dust had barely settled on her recent controversy surrounding toxic workplace allegations but now, Ellen DeGeneres has been slammed for her response to Elliot Page coming out as trans...
Page posted the heartfelt statement to social media yesterday...And, ever since, he has been surrounded by an outpouring of love - especially from his Umbrella Academy co-stars.
But it seems Ellen DeGeneres' response hasn't gone down so well...The star tweeted Page following his coming out post, but angry fans weren't so impressed.
Now, Page first rose to mainstream prominence from his native Canada in 2005 with the revenge thriller, Hard Candy..
Just 2 years later, he then starred in a film we all know and love...Juno, of course!
The indie flick saw Page receive an Academy Award nomination among several other accolades.His other notable roles include Kitty Pryde in the X-Men franchise, Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Whip It!, and Sony’s reboot of Flatliners.
Page has also made the crossover into production.Producing and starring in flicks such as Tallulah and Freeheld.
And last year...He marked his directorial debut examining environmental racism faced by people of color, as per Variety.
Oh, and who can forget?You may also recognize the star for his most recent role in the Netflix smash hit, The Umbrella Academy.
But, putting his acting credits to one side, Page is also a prominent figure among LGBTQ+ fans...
Page released a statement on social media, coming out as transgender.
"To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey."
“I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer."
He then asked for “patience" as he navigates his identity.
Page referred to at least forty trans people have been murdered in the US alone in 2020.
Since posting his message on Twitter and Instagram...Page has received an outpouring of love from fans, celebs, and co-stars alike.

Nick Adams, GLAAD’s Director of Transgender Media, was one of the first to speak out since Page released his heartfelt statement.
And his The Umbrella Academy co-stars have also rallied around him.Tom Hopper said he was "proud" of Elliot, and called him "family."
Justin H. Min also sent his love...On Twitter, he wrote: "Welcome to the fam, Elliot."
Showrunner, Steve Blackman, also showed his support for the star.As well as Emmy Raver-Lampman who wrote that she loved Page "so much."
The love didn't end there...Marin Ireland, who plays Sissy on the smash hit show, told him she loves him, while Jordan Claire Robbins branded the actor "amazing."
T.J. McGibbon, who plays young Vanya, also sent the actor some love.As did Eden Cupid, who plays young Allison.
And, of course, the official The Umbrella Academy account, as well as Netflix itself, also spoke out.

But it seems one celeb's reaction hasn't been so well received...And that was the one of infamous TV host, Ellen DeGeneres.
