Ellen DeGeneres’ Ex-Producer Says Her Apology Won’t Make a Difference ‘Because She Is Who She Is’

Even after Ellen Degeneres issued what was supposed to be a heartfelt apology, it seems as though it was not received that way by anyone else. But now her ex-producer has spoken out about the entire thing, giving us all some insight into where it all went wrong.

Read on to find out exactly what she had to say…

An ex-producer that worked alongside her has unleashed a whole wave of accusations upon the disgraced talk-show host. You’ll want to stick around for this one because she was not afraid to name specific names.

The infamous host of The Ellen Show has been batting off accusation after accusation… and now, the show is reportedly under investigation following reports of “mistreatment.”

Though she has built her on-screen persona around being outspoken against injustice and generous to the needy, many people have claimed that, in real life, she is quite the opposite.

Which is certainly a far cry from the relatable and humble TV host we all know and love… Or we thought we knew and loved.

Cracks have certainly begun to show, and rumors of the somewhat nastier personality behind the famous smiling blonde-haired, blue-eyed face have been intensifying.

Now, more than ever before, people are starting to turn against the star as detrimental stories continue to resurface.

For example…

This Twitter user came forward with the story about Ellen’s head writer, Karen Kilgariff. Karen was under Ellen’s employment for 5 years until she took part in a writer’s strike. Boom. Fired. And a word was never exchanged between the pair again.

This woman claims that her friend used to work as a writer on the show and, in the whole 2 years of her employment, Ellen didn’t greet her once. In fact, none of the staff were allowed to speak to the star of the show. Apparently.

In a recent, rather weird segment on her talk show, the sixty-two-year-old rated her staff’s babies after telling us “my staff [have] a lot of beautiful additions to their families. Clearly they had to be rated.” Did they Ellen? Did they really?

And, as a result, her ratings have taken a huge blow.

With previous seasons of the show raking in an average of 4.5 million viewers.

The Ellen Show had its season-low rating of around 1.5.

So much so that, at one point in time, fans were convinced that the worst had happened, but the producers ended up confirming that the show is not going to be axed… Yet.

According to Buzzfeed News, 1 current employee, as well as 10 former ones have rallied around together to reveal their “truths” about the toxic culture behind the scenes of the show.

But they revealed that it wasn’t just Ellen that was the cause of the toxicity, there were also other bosses and managers that made their lives much more difficult on set.

“That ‘be kind’ bullshit only happens when the cameras are on. It’s all for the show. I know they give money to people and help them out, but it’s for show.”

She was employed there for a total of eighteen months and in that time, she faced microaggressions and comments that made her feel uncomfortable.

“I’m sorry, I only know the names of the white people who work here.” The employee also claimed a producer commented on her and another Black employees’ hairstyles, allegedly stating: “Oh wow, you both have box braids; I hope we don’t get you confused.” “Whenever I brought up an issue to my white male boss, he would bring up some random story about some random Black friend that he had and how they managed to get over stuff. He would use his Black friend as some way to say, ‘I understand your struggle,’ but it was all performative bullshit.”

As reports are in that The Ellen Show is officially under investigation.

WarnerMedia, who own and syndicate the show, are believed to be the ones launching the internal investigation into what’s happening behind the scenes.

Ellen herself has been forced to speak out.

Ellen wrote a letter to her staff where she said that the culture behind the scenes was not a reflection of the values she started the show with and vowed to do better in the future.

“On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,” the talk show host wrote in a letter to her staff.”

“Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”

And “relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Cleary some didn’t.”

“I’m also learning that people who work with me and for me are speaking on my behalf and misrepresenting who I am and that has to stop. As someone who was judged and nearly lost everything for just being who I am, I truly understand and have deep compassion for those being looked at differently, or treated unfairly, not equal, or – worse – disregarded. To think that any one of you felt that way is awful to me.”

“We all have to be more mindful about the way our words and actions affect others, and I’m glad the issues at our show were brought to my attention. I promise to do my part in continuing to push myself and everyone around me to learn and grow. It’s important to me and to Warner Bros. that everyone who has something to say can speak up and feels safe doing so.”

While other celebrities such as Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson have already expressed their views of how Ellen needs to take responsibility for her actions, now another person who has witnessed incidents first-hand has spoken out.

She told The Wrap that she noticed some strange things as soon as she had started working there.

Prior to joining The Ellen Show team, Muskat had worked on The Howie Mandel Show and The Martin Short Show

And she claimed she has “never been around a toxic host.”

In one incident, she described him yelling at a crew member during a meeting. “He just went off on them,” she said. “His whole face turned red… We were stunned.”

“She crossed her legs up on the chair and she said, ‘Well, I guess every production needs their dog. And from then we knew. Ed was going to be the barking dog — her dog. You could just see everybody’s faces go stiff. We’re professionals; we’re adults. We don’t need a dog to get us to do our jobs. She was the only one giggling.”

This was only days before the Emmy Awards. “They call me in and Ed says, ‘Congratulations on the nomination. We really appreciate what you’ve done, but we no longer need your services,’” she noted that Glavin told her producers were “taking the show in a different direction.”
