Elon Musk recently took to Twitter to seek suggestions on how he could donate some of his wealth and, now, despite losing his title as the world's richest man, it seems he has made his first donation.

Now, we all know that Musk is a very wealthy man.
Tesla is known for its state of the art engineering...
And his other venture, Space X, is paving the way for the future of space travel.
So, of course, all of this has earned Musk a handsome sum over the last few years...
Quite the achievement, I know.
Musk passed Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, in the world's richest list after Tesla was selected to join the S&P 500, a stock market index that measures the performance of 500 large companies listed on the U.S stock exchange, at the end of last year. This means that Musk was then left with only 2 men to compete with financially...
Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos. But it was quickly realized that he didn't need a lot to surpass Microsoft's co-founder for second place.
Well, $8 billion isn't unachievable when you're already a billionaire...
Last year alone, his fortune grew by $100.3 billion.
However, there was one man who even Musk couldn't beat...
Until this year that is...
Earlier this month, Tesla's stock price saw a jump of 4.9 percent - an increase that came just days after finishing the first trading session of the year where they saw an increase of 3.4 percent.
Musks net worth subsequently soared to a staggering $188 billion, as Bloomberg's Billionaires Index.
And with Jeff Bezos net worth standing at $187 billion, Elon Musk was ultimately placed as the worlds richest man.
And as for Musk's response?
@teslaownersSV How strange— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk)1610033547.0
He then followed up with:
@teslaownersSV Well, back to work …— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk)1610033582.0
But, after allowing the information to sink in...
The eccentric entrepreneur took to Twitter once more to seek a little bit of financial advice.
He tweeted this:
Btw, critical feedback is always super appreciated, as well as ways to donate money that really make a difference (way harder than it seems)— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk)1610069753.0
Yep, in perhaps the most Elon Musk move ever, he asked the Twitter community to suggest ways in which he can donate his wealth...
For example...
@elonmusk sir i have a long list of rescue organizations and underfunded shelters if you’re interested— WeRateDogs® (@WeRateDogs®)1610070413.0
There were numerous calls for him to donate to the Barstool Fund...
@elonmusk Donate money to @BarstoolFund and roll out subscription autopilot ASAP. It’s perfect timing for both with TSLA on 🔥!— Brandon Burns (@Brandon Burns)1610097275.0
Open Bionics, a prosthetics company that creates affordable bionic limbs, also chimed in with a suggestion...
@elonmusk There are so many children and adults in the USA without insurance but still need bionic arms. Help us gi… https://t.co/YFYYiqUQxl— Open Bionics (@Open Bionics)1610099740.0
Other people urged the billionaire to invest money into poverty-stricken areas of Africa...
@elonmusk Let's get the Hadzabe, the last hunter gatherers in Africa, some Starlink. I just bought them solar panel… https://t.co/K6dba9hPVw— Dan Lukehart (@Dan Lukehart)1610069984.0
Though, of course, some suggestions were a little more far-fetched than others.
@elonmusk Elon, I would like to be the first artist to have paintings displayed on Mars. Let’s make it happen 🚀 https://t.co/hJN42ytNcs— 🎨 (@🎨)1610070818.0
Unfortunately for Musk, his title didn't last long.
Just 4 days after becoming the world's richest man, he reportedly dropped back into second following a fall in Telsa shares by 8 percent.
But that hasn't stopped him from sticking to his word.
Reports are coming in today that suggest Musk has donated $5 million to help students all across the world access free and easily accessible education.
Musk donated the eye-watering amount to the Khan Academy, a US-based non-profit organization.
You have the power to change a child’s life. Every $1 donated to Khan Academy guarantees 3 hours of learning time for a student somewhere in the world.

Founder of Khan Academy, Salman Khan, took to social media to thank Musk.
In the video on Youtube, Khan said:
"Elon, I hope you really feel good about this. This is going to allow us to accelerate all sorts of content. Our aspirations are all subjects from K through the early stages of college.
This will accelerate our science content, allow us to do more on early learning, allow us to make the software and practice that much more engaging for millions of students around the world, for teachers around the world.
