Kanye is without a doubt one of music’s more controversial celebrities…

  via Getty Images

From his divorce from Kim to the Paris Fashion Week debacle, the star is no stranger to scandal.

advertisement

These days it seems to come part and parcel with the bestselling artist…

  via Getty Images

It’s easy to forget Kanye’s impact on the music industry amid all the debate around him.

advertisement

The forty-five-year-old is one of the world’s leading hip hop artists.

  via Getty Images

Since his 2004 debut album The College Dropout, the star has been met with both critical and commercial success in the charts.

advertisement

He has won a whopping twenty-four Grammy Awards and sold over 160 million records.

  via Getty Images

Kanye is also known for working prolifically with a range of artists across the genre, including big-name stars such as Jay Z and Kid Cudi.

advertisement

However, for lots of us, that’s not where we know Kanye from…

  via Getty Images

His outspoken views have found him hitting headlines for all sorts of controversies over the past few years.

advertisement

And none of this has been helped by his high-profile divorce from Kim Kardashian.

  via Getty Images

The pair wed back in 2014, and share 4 children together.

advertisement

The former power couple’s divorce has not been smooth sailing, with the pair getting involved in public spats.

  via Getty Images

Kim’s opening speech from Saturday Night Live in October 2021 gives you a taste of its savage nature: “I married the best rapper of all time … a talented, legit genius, who gave me 4 incredible kids.

advertisement

“So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”

  via Getty Images

It’s reported that after hearing this, Kanye stormed out of the audience… Yikes!

advertisement

Kim’s appearance on the show also led to a relationship blossoming between the reality star and SNL cast member Pete Davidson.

  via Getty Images

And, well, things only got worse from there on out…

advertisement

By the start of this year, Kanye was dating model Julia Fox.

  via Getty Images

The pair were extremely public about their slightly chaotic yet short-lived relationship.

advertisement

And by midway through January things really started to heat up, with Kanye accusing Kim of not inviting him to their daughter’s birthday party.

  via Getty Images

The news about Chicago’s birthday took fans by surprise, who had assumed the pair’s co-parenting had been going to plan.

advertisement

Kanye then went on to continue publicly accusing Kim of various parenting problems.

  via Getty Images

He told Hollywood Unlocked that the Kardashian was refusing to let him see his children – claims which Kim’s team denied.

advertisement

Then, Kanye came for Pete, releasing a song titled ‘Eazy’, where the rapper threatened to “beat [his] ass.”

  via Getty Images

Kim hit back, sharing a statement on her Instagram that said: “Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”

advertisement

Despite this, Kanye continued to publicly proclaim his love for Kim, and his distaste for Pete, who he began to nickname ‘Skete’.

  via Getty Images

This came to a head in April this year, when Page Six reported that Kanye, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, told Kim that “he’s going away to get help.”

advertisement

In the wake of all this, in March this year both Kim and Kanye were declared legally single.

The pair remained married, but Kanye reportedly told his lawyers to speed up the divorce process.

advertisement

Things were pretty quiet until the summer, other than Kim and Kanye’s lawyers fighting it out.

  via Getty Images

Aside from the fact that Kim split with Pete in August, to Kanye’s delight.

advertisement

However, by September, Kanye was at it again with the chaotic Instagram posts.

  via Getty Images

The star continued to share private messages from Kim…

advertisement

In the posts, Kanye shared his frustrations about the lack of “control” he has over his children’s education.

  via Getty Images

The musician also critiqued Kris Jenner’s rule over the family and how she “made” her daughters do Playboy shoots, saying he’s “not gonna let it happen to Northy and Chicago.”

advertisement

However, Kanye’s controversy spreads further than to just his family…

  via Getty Images

Recently, the star’s influence in the fashion world has been called into question too.

advertisement

Yeezy, the star’s fashion brand, was recently shrouded in controversy after a shirt branding the words “WHITE LIVES MATTER” turned up on the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week.

  via Shutterstock

Kanye himself along with right-wing commentator Candace Owens donned the questionable item of clothing.

advertisement

Following the show, he reportedly posted: “Everyone know that Black Lives Matter was a scam now it’s over you’re welcome.”

  via Getty Images

The Instagram story was quickly deleted from his account.

advertisement

After the backlash from the Yeezy show, Kanye appeared to fall into a bit of a spiral.

  via Getty Images

The star began to share antisemitic conspiracy theories on Instagram, including a suggestion that fellow rapper Diddy was being controlled by Jewish people.

advertisement

His Instagram account was subsequently suspended.

  via Getty Images

As a result, the Atlanta native became active again on Twitter…

advertisement

Kanye continued to post antisemitic comments, which resulted in his Twitter account also being banned.

  via Getty Images

Many famous voices have chimed into the conversation to condemn Kanye, with musician John Legend tweeting: “Weird how all these ‘free, independent thinkers’ always land at the same old anti blackness and anti semitism.”

advertisement

Brands across the world have been quick to cut ties with the star.

  via Getty Images

Notably, Vogue and Balenciaga have said they won’t work with Kanye again.

advertisement

However, by far the biggest loss for Kanye is Adidas, who have ended their Yeezy partnership, saying the brand “does not tolerate antisemitism.”

  via Getty Images

Forbes reports that the move has slashed the rapper’s net worth from an estimated $2 billion to $400 million.

advertisement

But there was some hope for Kanye…

  via Getty Images

And it was all because of Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter…

advertisement

Kanye’s account was reinstated.

  via Getty Images

But as soon as he returned to the platform, the rapper began posting highly controversial tweets once more…

advertisement

He immediately wrote: “Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked.”

  via Getty Images

Then followed it up 5 hours later with the traditional Hebrew greeting, “Shalom”, which landed the star in controversy, as it was his antisemitic comments which resulted in his previous ban.

advertisement

Kanye also revealed he’s selling products from the companies that cut ties with him.

  via Getty Images

In a video published by celebrity news site X17, Kanye gave a tour of his Los Angeles office where ten employees can be seen sitting behind sewing machines. As per reports, hundreds of garments were hung on racks throughout the workshop, or laid out on tables and spread across the floor.

advertisement

But it also included many of the pieces labeled with “Ye24,” signaling Kanye’s 2024 presidential campaign.

  via Getty Images

”So what we do here is, I’ve cut up 100 hoodies. From Yeezy, from Balenciaga, from stuff we did with Gap, from stuff we did with Adidas, and everything we do is gonna cost $20,” said Kanye.

advertisement

He continued: “We need to make sure that everyone can receive the same level of cut, the same level of food, same level of water and the same level of education.

  via Getty Images

“We’re beings with engineering opportunities. We’re getting past the past. We’re focused on the future.”

The hoodies were reportedly left over from before the companies cut ties with Kanye after his antisemitic comments.

advertisement

Then, Page Six reported that court papers show that the star “did not appear” for the pair’s deposition.

  via Getty Images

The November 16 meeting was rescheduled for November 29, but if he fails to show again then a judge will hear if Kanye is to “be permitted to offer any testimony, oral or written,” the documents show.

advertisement

The couple’s trial date is set for December 14, so they have until then to “at least limit the issues” or sort them out.

  via Getty Images

They are currently still in settlement negotiations.

advertisement

However, former employees of the rapper then made interesting revelations.

  via Getty Images

Rolling Stone published a report that reveals the types of “intimidation tactic” the star used on former members of staff.

advertisement

The allegations include claims from one young employee that the star showed him an explicit picture of Kim during a job interview in 2018.

  via Getty Images

“My wife just sent me this,” he reportedly said as he then showed him a “very revealing and personal” photo on his phone.

advertisement

At least one other ex-member of staff has alleged Kanye shared explicit videos of Kim.

  via Getty Images

A third person confirmed that Kanye was “not afraid to show explicit images or talk about situations that should be kept private” when asked about the matter.

advertisement

The allegations come in the wake of a film in which Kanye could be seen showing Adidas executives p*rn.

  via Getty Images

Rolling Stone revealed that Adidas has announced they’re investigating the claims.

advertisement

But now Kanye has been hit with yet more controversy.

  via Getty Images

On Timcast Irl, Kanye said: “I thought I was more Malcolm X, but I found out I’m more MLK. I’m getting hosed down every day by the press and financially, I’m just standing there.”

advertisement

“When I found out they were trying to put me in jail, it was like a dog was biting my arm, and I almost shed a tear. Almost.

  via Getty Images

“But I still walked in stride through it,” he added.

advertisement

The host then claimed he didn’t use the word “they” to have the same meaning Kanye did…

  via Getty Images

Kanye also failed to acknowledge what he meant by “they.”

advertisement

The rapper then lost patience with the host and stormed out of the recording.

You can watch the full recording of the episode here.

advertisement

Kanye has been focusing his efforts on rebuilding his Donda Academy…

  via Getty Images

It seems the Cornerstone Christian Church might be Kanye’s next venue.

advertisement

It’s clear Pastor Ronald Nagin doesn’t hold a grudge against Kanye for his disgraceful antisemitic comments.

  via Getty Images

And actually considers him a friend, so it’s likely he’ll get his wish of leasing church space for the academy.

advertisement

According to TMZ, Pastor Nagin has said that he and Kanye have met multiple times over the past month to discuss the possibility that he can use church space for his Academy…

  via Getty Images

The new location would be in Northridge, San Fernando Valley.

advertisement

This comes after Donda Academy fizzled out after he relocated from Simi Valley to Chatsworth last year.

  via Getty Images

So although a lease is allegedly being created for the rapper to take over part of the church, he will still have the colossal job of searching for new students and teachers to be a part of it.

advertisement

Those who were part of the academy left to participate in other programs.

  via Getty Images

But rebuilding Donda Academy should be the least of his worries…

advertisement

As Kanye recently opened up about his taxes, saying he owes a massive $50 million.

  via Getty Images

Appearing on the right-wing podcast Timcast IRL, Kanye said that the Internal Revenue Service put a hold on his account, restricting him from accessing the $75 million in his account, as he owed a lot of tax money.

advertisement

“I’m talking about literally finding out that they were trying to put me in prison this morning,” he said.

  via Shutterstock

“But I found out … they put a $75m hold on four of my accounts.”

advertisement

After speaking with his accountant, Kanye found out exactly how much “a lot” is.

  via Getty Images

“They said, well, around $50 million,” the rapper said, whilst admitting he’s “obviously not the most financially literate person on the planet.”

advertisement

He reportedly spoke with his CFOs in his business to see if not paying back counts as tax evasion.

  via Getty Images

And the answer to that question was yes; it does count as tax evasion.

advertisement

Now, Kanye’s Twitter account has been suspended.

  via Getty Images

And it’s not a surprise why it may have pushed Musk to make the move…

advertisement

According to UNILAD, Kanye went on a Twitter posting rampage shortly after his interview on Alex Jones’s InfoWars show.

  via Getty Images

In the series of tweets, Kanye said he supported Balenciaga, claimed p*rn use “ruined” his family, and shared an image of Elon Musk being hosed down on a yacht.

advertisement

While he said these tweets were going to be his last ever posts on the site, he also posted a picture of a design showing a Nazi swastika inside the Jewish Star of David.

  via Getty Images

The post attracted lots of comments and many begged him to stop ruining his public image and legacy.

advertisement

He added a caption to the post that read: “#LOVESPEECH” and to “LOVE EVERYONE.”

  via Getty Images

But, Musk soon stepped in and suspended his account.

advertisement

Musk replied to the tweet and said Kanye’s controversial design was “not” an illustration of love.

  via Getty Images

In screenshots posted by Kanye before his account was suspended, Musk allegedly sent a text message citing the tweet which read: “Sorry, but you have gone too far. This is not love.”

advertisement

One follower begged Musk to shut down Kanye’s account, and he responded: “I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”

  via Getty Images

Musk then went ahead and clarified why the suspension was specifically for the swastika and Star of David post.

advertisement

“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari,” he wrote.

  via Getty Images

“Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!”

advertisement

These remarks come after Kanye showed his support for Adolf Hitler on InfoWars.

  via Shutterstock

Host Alex Jones suggested Kanye has been “demonized” in the press recently following a string of problematic and antisemitic remarks and added that it was unfair for him to be compared to Hitler or the Nazis.

advertisement

But Kanye hopped right into the conversation and said something fans couldn’t believe.

  via Getty Images

“I love everyone, and Jewish people are not gonna tell me… ‘You can love us, and you can love what we’re doing to you with the contracts, and you can love what we’re pushing with the p*rnography,” he said.

advertisement

“But this guy that invented highways, invented the very microphone that I use as a musician—you can’t say out loud that this person ever did anything good, and I’m done with that. I’m done with the classifications, every human being has something of value that they brought to the table.

  via Getty Images

“Especially Hitler.”

But before he went to an advert break, Kanye blurted out: “I like Hitler.”

advertisement

Later in the show, he reportedly defended Hitler.

  via Getty Images

He said: “They did good things too, we’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all the time.”

advertisement

“The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world.

  via Getty Images

“I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” he concluded.

advertisement

Since then, West’s tweets did not sit well with Musk, and said that he wanted to “punch” Kanye.

  via Getty Images

“I personally wanted to punch Kanye, so that was definitely inciting me to violence,” Musk wrote on Twitter before adding, “That’s not cool.”
