‘Elvis’ Actor Shonka Dukureh’s Cause of Death Confirmed

The cause of death of actress Shonka Dukureh, who passed away last month, has finally been revealed.

Dukureh was just forty-four years old when she died.

One distraught Facebook user wrote: “A rising star whose voice was pure magic. So sad. Her children and family have lost a shining light. Rest easy.”

Another added: “Oh my God, those poor babies. I pray that they don’t have that image for their lifetime. May her soul rest in peace with the ancestors.”

Others commented on her incredible role in the movie: “So sad to hear! She was phenomenal in the movie. Super talented lady. So sorry for her poor little child.”

“So sad!!! What an awesome and amazing person! She did so well in the movie!!! She will be truly missed! Condolences to her family, friends, and co-stars.” a fourth wrote.

Actress Shonka Dukureh has died aged just forty-four.

Shonka was found dead inside her Nashville apartment on Thursday, July 21, as per TMZ.

Shockingly, it was one of Shonka’s children who discovered her body, they immediately alerted their neighbor who called the police at around 9:30 am. They confirmed her death on arrival.

There is currently no foul play suspected surrounding her cause of death…

But an investigation is still ongoing, and more will be known once an autopsy takes place.

As well as starring in Elvis, she also appeared in Doja Cat’s music video for ‘Vegas’.

The talented actress was just starting out in the industry.

Shonka played Big Mama Thornton in the movie.

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, on August 29 the coroner ruled that the late actor’s death was due to natural causes.

Dukureh died from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Hypertensive heart disease refers to a group of medical problems, including heart failure, that are caused by chronic high blood pressure.

Atherosclerosis is the build-up of cholesterol plaque in the walls of the arteries, causing obstruction of blood flow. It can cause heart attacks or strokes over time, as the blockage intensifies.
