Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably have a pretty good idea of who Emily Blunt is.

She’s appeared in many blockbuster movies and worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Blunt starred in A Quiet Place as well as the sequel A Quiet Place 2, Edge of Tomorrow, Jungle Cruise, and Mary Poppins Returns.

She has worked with the likes of John Krasinski, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Tom Cruise, to name a few.
Blunt’s net worth reportedly stands at $80 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

But how did the thirty-nine-year-old actress find her way to stardom?
Let’s find out…
Born in London, England, on February 1983, Blunt has been known for her crisply delineated characterizations of women from all walks of life.

After appearing in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, Blunt started to get noticed, and it wasn’t long till she started to land leading roles in a wide range of movies.
But before she did any acting, Blunt had a stammering problem.

She spent her days doing acting exercises and found a home on the stage.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Blunt said: “I wouldn’t say that’s why I’ve ventured into acting, but it was just a bit shocking the first time I was able to speak, you know, doing a silly voice or an accent pretending to be someone else.”

“People don’t talk about it enough if it hasn’t got enough exposure, and millions of people around the world struggle with it.”
Blunt also hosted the American Institute for Stuttering’s 2022 Freeing Voices, in New York.

“It’s biological, and it’s often hereditary, and it’s not your fault,” she said.
“And I think it’s very often a disability that people bully and make fun of. So I think, to raise awareness about what it’s really about, and that there’s this soft place for you to land in this amazing organization. It’s a big deal for me to be here.”

Speaking with Marie Claire Magazine, Blunt admitted her stuttering got worse when she got older.
“It wasn’t the whole part of me; it was just a part of who I was,” she said.

“There were certain people who liked to define me by that. That was tough. I decided not to really spend time with those people. I’ve probably only now come to realize that everybody has something growing up. That just happened to be my thing.”
Blunt added: “Stutterers don’t feel understood. It’s not psychological. It’s not that you’re nervous, it’s not that you’re insecure, it’s not that you can’t read, it’s not that you don’t know what you want to say.

“It’s neurological, it’s genetic, it’s biological. It’s not your fault.”
As for her career decision, acting wasn’t her first choice.

Initially, she wanted to become a live translator for the United Nation.
However, her career took a turn after Blunt appeared in a student production of the musical Bliss (2000) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Her appearance brought the attention of an agent, and she soon appeared opposite Judi Dench in a West End production of The Royal Family in 2001.
The following year, Blunt starred as Juliet in a production of Romeo and Juliet at the Chichester Festival.

She then appeared in the full-feature-length movie titled Boudicca in 2003, where she played the character Isolda.
Since then, she took on several supporting roles in movies, such as Foyle’s War (2003), Empire (2005), and Gideon’s Daughter (2005) to name a few.

She later earned herself a Golden Globe Award for Best-Supporting Actress in a television series, miniseries, and movie.
Blunt then started landing leading roles.

She appeared in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011).
She also voiced the romantic hit animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet (2011).

As well as the sequel Sherlock Gnomes (2018).
She also appeared in the sci-fi action movie Looper (2012) before taking on the role of Rita Vrataski in the 2014 sci-fi action movie Edge of Tomorrow.

However, whilst filming the movie Edge of Tomorrow, it was reported that Cruise told Blunt to “stop being such a pu**y.”
However, Blunt said that fans took the comment out of context and wanted to clear the air.

Speaking with E! News, Blunt said: “It’s ludicrous that it’s being spun as something that offended me.
“It didn’t. I shared the story as lightheartedly as it was meant by Tom.”

Blunt then went on to say that she and Cruise don’t have hate for one another, admitting they are close companions.
“I absolutely adore Tom, he’s a dear friend and he was a total gem to me,” she said.

“It was said as a joke to make me laugh, which it did in a big way. And it’s still something we laugh about to this day.”
So what exactly did happen to make Cruise say that?

Blunt explained on The Smartless podcast that she and Cruise had to wear “enormous” suits for the movie, something she wasn’t confident wearing.
“The first time I put it on I just started to cry in front of Tom,” Blunt said.

“And he didn’t know what to do.”
After coming to Cruise about her concerns, he had quite a response to give to Blunt.

“I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry,” Blunt said.
“I was like, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot,’ and he stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p—y, OK?'”

After making the comment, Blunt reacted positively.
