Eminem’s iconic “mom’s spaghetti” lyrics have become a meme in recent years. But it seems as though he’s leaning into the viral fame with his latest business venture…
Yep, that’s right – he’s opened a restaurant inspired by the lyric.
It’s in Detroit – and for its first day of opening, Slim Shady himself was there in person to serve his customers and fans.
Eminem stood in the takeout window of the building, serving pots of pasta.
FYI, tubs of spaghetti and sauce cost $9, or for an extra $3, you can add some meatballs or vegan meatballs.
And it seems the venture is set to be a success.
There were hundreds of customers there for opening day, with queues spanning several blocks.
For many fans, it was an unmissable opportunity to meet the star.
Mom’s Spaghetti has already had success in various pop-ups across the country, but this is its first permanent location.
“We are really pleased to announce the arrival of the walk-up restaurant and adjacent upstairs store, called The Trailer, where fans can experience a uniquely-curated environment and obtain merch and other items from Eminem and his new pasta operation,” said Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg.
“Dude’s still an OG. Zero chance of ever seeing him like this, but mad props to any mass artist who’s willing to serve thousands of people at a restaurant,” wrote one Em fan.
“One man who waited in line for hours claimed that by the end, his knees were weak and his arms were heavy but it was all worth it for that mom’s spaghetti!” another joked.
Will you be making the pilgrimage to see it in the flesh?
