Rumor has it that Harry Potter star Emma Watson has "secretly retired" from acting at the age of thirty.
Here's what we know about this shock revelation...
Now, Emma Watson has had an enviable acting career.
She's pretty much an old pro, having been cast in the Harry Potter franchise when she was just ten years old.
Watson skyrocketed to fame after she spent a decade playing the bossy Hermione Granger and immediately became a household name in British showbiz.
She also became an advocate for sustainability and a public voice for feminism...
Something that she has carried with her over the years.
Since her Harry Potter days came to an end, she's stayed in the public's consciousness.
And is never too far from a red carpet.
Watson was quick to get into some new roles...
With one of her most famous being as Sam in 2012's The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
And who could forget Beauty and the Beast?
In 2017, Watson was the envy of every '90s kid as she took on the live-action role of Belle.
And in 2019?
She's an incredibly diverse actress...
And has taken on a wide range of roles, ranging from the soft and respectable to the outrageous and comedic.
Watson's career isn't all about acting, either.
Watson supports causes and charities that are near and dear to her heart and she's now one of the most outspoken advocates in the celebrity world.
In 2014, at age twenty-four, Watson was appointed the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.
"Women's rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can't imagine an opportunity more exciting," she said of the honor.
"I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience, and awareness to this role."
Plus, she's really into reading and literature and literally spreading the word.
In November 2019, Watson left nearly one-hundred copies of Maya Angelou's book, Mom & Me & Mom on the London subway, with a few handwritten notes stuck inside.
That's a pretty awesome move, we must say!
She's also big on accountability for her own choices, such as the designers she chooses to use.PowerPoint presentation for her stylist to send to designers. The presentation helped Watson choose the designer who created the most environmentally friendly and ethically responsible clothing.
And it seems as if Watson has some set ideas for her future.
In an interview with British Vogue last year, the thirty-year-old revealed she was interested in pursuing more activism, alluding to a changing direction in her career.
"Having been so public in making films and being so active on social [media] in my activism, I am curious to embrace a role where I work to amplify more voices, to continue to learn from those with different experiences."
She also shared her plans to enjoy "fewer red carpets" and "more conference meetings"...
Which more than likely spurred along her most recent career decision.
It has been reported that the actress has decided to take early retirement from acting...
And she is apparently no longer taking on "new commitments" as an actor, according to the Daily Star.
Watson's agent said the star is enjoying a "dormant" career with no plans for future acting roles...
And she has instead been spending a lot of time with her boyfriend, Leo Robinton, in Los Angeles.
The publication's source claimed:
"Emma has gone underground, she is settling down with Leo. They're laying low. Maybe she wants a family."
After so many years of acting and dedicating her life to the arts...
We don't at all blame Watson for wanting to take some time out and focus on her personal life!
We wish Watson a lifetime of happiness during the next chapter of her life.
