Medical bills are the bane of everyone’s existence.

As the economy continues to plummet into the ground, it’s dragging our medical system with it. Everyone deserves to be healthy, but when people are neck-deep in debt just because they sat in an ambulance, it’s no wonder that people are finding alternative methods to deal with an emergency. Some have gone as far as treating themselves just because they can’t risk another unreasonable expense slapped onto their tab.

When asked: “What’s the most absurd medical bill you have ever received?” we were shocked to see all the heartbreaking responses in the thread.

But now, Michael Jordan has done something revolutionary to help change healthcare in this country as we know it…

But we are all aware of that fact. Instead of funding wars, maybe it would be a better idea for the government to put some money towards sorting out more affordable healthcare options for our citizens because this just can’t continue.

There’s a lump in my throat reading some of these stories.

1.2 million dollars? Someone, please enlighten me as to how a normal twenty-three-year-old is supposed to pay over a million dollars?

This is what I meant when I said that people were taking matters into their own hands just so they could avoid expensive bills.

But still charged twelve thousand dollars in medical bills!

What could possibly cost that much in a hospital? Unless someone rents the entire building out for a month. Please let me know.

I really can’t believe she was forced to pay 500 dollars just to confirm the fact that her baby had, in fact, died. Wow.

Yet they sent him home with painkillers and slapped a sixteen thousand dollar bill on it. Fun fact: America charges double for medical bills compared to any other developed country.

A grand an hour? No thank you. I’ll just grab a bunch of anti-histamines and sort myself out.

So, let me get this straight. This woman just lost a baby, was on the brink of death herself, but instead of being able to heal, she was too busy fretting about the medical bill? Wow.

This country seems to care less about its victims than it does about the oppressors.

Let me know, who has 480,000 dollars just lying around?

Addiction is a tricky one, because some people would say that you got yourself into the mess so you must get yourself out, even if that means paying so much for additional treatment. But personally, I think if you have to pay an arm and a leg for treatment, then you’re more likely to avoid it.

I would have just gone down to Target and grabbed myself a box. I would have saved myself 1,395 dollars. Bloody hell.

Put your personal opinion of Obama to the side and understand that Obamacare was the best thing that ever happened to this country.

Basketball legend, Michael Jordan is known for his magnificent ability to slam dunk every ball straight through a hoop, but now he’s known for a completely different reason altogether.

Jordan has now decided to open a medical clinic for uninsured and underinsured people in Charlotte, North Carolina.

After becoming the owner of the NBA team, Charlotte Hornets, he moved onto bigger projects such as this one. Investing approximately 7 million dollars into the project, the first of the two clinics is ready to provide aid to low-income families.

Jordan had tears streaming down his face as he announced that he would be serving the community: “This is a very emotional thing for me to be able to give back to a community that has supported me over the years, from when I was playing the game of basketball, to now when I’m a part of this community.” Keep scrolling to see the full video.

So this is a crucial move in the right direction for the city as well as the state as a whole.

It will also staff social workers and offer behavioral and social support services so that children and adults alike are able to receive all the treatment they need.

Within the next 5 years, the facilities aim to look after 35,000 children and adults.

“This is just the start of a battle of being able to touch as many people as we can.” What a great man!

People are having fork out thousand and sometimes, millions n order to pay their medical bills. And it just isn’t right. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, everyone deserves to be healthy.

It’s time for change.
