The actress was discovered on Sunday morning in the town of Cape Vincent, according to TMZ.

The 61-year-old actress, who was a Syracuse resident, acted in a number of well-known TV shows and movies.

She also starred in Mr. Saturday Night, The Hard Way, and Love Potion #9.

Mara appeared in 20 movies and 40 TV shows, throughout her impressive career.

They responded to a call for a possible drowning in the river at around 8 am and when they arrived they found the actress’ body in the water.

Her body was then taken to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Where they tried to determine the cause of death.

TMZ had earlier reported that preliminary investigations had ruled out the idea of foul play.

But they do believe that the actress drowned.

The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office performed a post-mortem examination, which reportedly revealed the late actress died of “asphyxiation and water drowning.”

And Mary’s representative has slammed TMZ for carrying an “inaccurate” news story of the late actress’ death…

The media outlet reported that Mara’s drowning may have involved a possible head injury, which caused her death.

But these rumors were untrue, as per the actress’ spokesperson.

Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, the spokesperson said the story TMZ carried was “inaccurate.”

While police have now confirmed to People that there were “no signs of any trauma” to Mary’s body when she was found.
