Eric Trump Said His Dad is 'Most Beloved Figure' | 22 Words

Eric Trump has come out from the ashes to sing the praises of his father. But not before giving the world a piece of his mind about the current situation of American politics... You're going to want to see this one, ladies and gentlemen.

The news comes just days after Donald Trump was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Now, it's certainly been a strange few years...

No one could quite believe what they were hearing when the notorious business tycoon announced his plans to run for president during the 2016 presidential campaigns.

But when it came round to election day...

The world awoke on November 9th to see that America officially had its new, and very controversial, leader.

Trump immediately threw himself into the role of president of the United States...

And it was certainly up and down.

Trump sparked his fair share of outrage, imposing a temporary travel ban on Muslims entering and leaving the U.S. as well as banning transgender people from the military, just for example.

But he also passed a bill that makes animal cruelty a federal crime, and unemployment in the country was at an all-time low at just 3.6 percent.

Of course, Trump was certainly no stranger to criticism and controversy.

Much of his behavior while acting as president was seriously questioned, with many calling for him, again and again, to be impeached and even removed from office entirely.

And, last year...

Trump underwent an impeachment trial on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

And even though the Senate acquitted Trump of these charges on February 5, 2020, the impeachment left a nasty stain on the former president's reputation.

And, to make things even worse...

Shortly after the impeachment charges were dropped, the world was hit by the coronavirus pandemic which Trump was accused of handling awfully.

He insisted over and over again how "harmless" the virus was, despite catching it himself in October and seeing more than 390,000 American people die.

Of course, the people of America were left grieving and feeling angry...

But this didn't stop Trump from running as president for a second term in last year's 2020 elections.

Trump's presidential campaign was as chaotic as we'd all expected...

And in comparison to Democratic candidate Joe Biden's toned-down campaign, Trump seemed to be desperately grasping at straws.

He was clearly in panic mode and right up until November 3rd, when the votes started to get counted, Trump continued to spread lies about Biden and his campaign team in a desperate bid to be reelected.

But these efforts were to little avail.

On November 7th, it was confirmed that Joe Biden had won the election by amassing 284 electoral college seats to Trump's 214.

It was a clear and fair win for Biden and Kamala Harris...

But Trump refused to see it this way and, instead, went on to repeatedly accuse Biden and his team of election fraud.

According to Trump, the Republicans were the real winners of the election.

Trump's refusal to concede to Biden only poured more fuel on his army of angry supporters...

And this lead to the shocking scenes at the U.S Capitol building on January 6th, just weeks before Biden's inauguration.

At a "Save America" rally held in Washington D.C, the then-president encouraged his supporters to "fight for their country"...

Which lead to thousands of them flocking to the Capitol building and breaking in to cause total and utter havoc.

Chants could be heard saying, "Stop the steal!"...

And terrifying scenes soon started to unfold, with angry rioters looting personal and valuable items from the offices and chambers as members of Congress were quietly evacuated from the building.

It was history in the making...

And it was also, undeniably, the biggest security breach our country has faced since 9/11.

5 people were confirmed to have died during the violent riot...

And during all of this, calls were repeatedly made for Trump to put a stop to the madness... but they were to little avail.

Trump eventually issued a series of small tweets asking for his supporters to simply "go home" and he down-right refused to take any responsibility for the riot, despite him being the one who encouraged his supporters to literally "fight back" earlier that day.

This lead to Trump being suspended indefinitely from all major social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

Of course, we all know how much Trump loved Twitter, so this was a huge deal.

This got Congress talking, which lead to the decision to officially impeach Donald Trump just weeks before his term was up...

Making Trump the only president in history to be impeached twice during a presidential term.

So, it's safe to say that Donald Trump isn't having a good year so far...

But he did get nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, so at least that's something. He is up against some mighty contenders though, so there might be another disappointment in the works there.

However, not everyone is speaking negatively of the former president.

His family are still out singing his praises, but Eric Trump has recently stepped it up a notch after claiming his father is the "most beloved figure in US political history."

But not everyone agrees...

Eric Trump appeared on Fox News where he took a swipe at the Democrats before turning his attention to his father.

Talking to Sean Hannity, he said this: "They tried to manufacture everything under the sun against my father, against all of us. They do it every single day."

He continued:

"They continue to do it. Even when he's a private citizen, they're still trying to impeach him."

I mean, clearly, he doesn't know how impeachment works...

You can try any president, former or standing, to undergo the grueling process.

He then added that the Democrats were out to get his father.

"[They want to] tar and feather the man. They know he did a great job for this nation. They know that there's never been a more beloved political figure in our country's history."

But, if we're going to get technical about it, recent polls have actually shown that Donald Trump has had some of the lowest ratings by the end of his term.

He polled at an average of 41% which was the lowest of any president since the current polling system was put in place back in 1938, before WWII.

So let's swap out "beloved" for something a little more fitting... How about "bel...ow average."
