The shooter, Ethan Crumbley, opened fire early afternoon on Tuesday, with the first call to police coming in at 12:51 p.m, followed by hundreds more from terrified students…

The students who were tragically killed have been identified as sixteen-year-old, Tate Myre, fourteen-year-old, Hana St. Juliana, and seventeen-year-old, Madisyn Baldwin. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Myre died while being transported to hospital in one of the deputy’s cars.

The 7 students injured ranged in ages from fourteen to seventeen, and 2 girls are reportedly in critical condition with gunshot wounds…

One of the 8 injured was a forty-seven-year-old teacher at the school, who has since left the hospital with minor injuries.

Sixteen-year-old, Tate Myre, was among those who sadly died.

Myres, who has been described as a hero by many, passed away in a patrol car as a deputy tried to get him to an emergency room.

Myre attempted to disarm the gun, giving other people time to escape with their lives, but, his wounds after doing so, were substantial, and he lost his life as a result of his bravery.

Myre’s former teammate Drake Biggie said: “Everyone wanted to talk to Tate, everyone wanted to be around Tate.”

He also said that Myre always “got the job done,” and he certainly did, even when it came to protecting his fellow students, putting his own life in the hands of the shooter, instead.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has spoken out about the incident, too.

“I think this is every parent’s worst nightmare,” when talking about the incident.

“My heart goes out to the families. This is an unimaginable tragedy. I hope we can all rise to the occasion and wrap our arms around the families, the affected children and school personnel, and this community,” she continued, as per CNN.

The fifteen-year-old suspect, Ethan Crumbley, was taken into custody as soon as police arrived on scene, and later arrested.

Although he didn’t resist arrest, he has invoked his right to remain silent. Police later recovered a loaded handgun, reportedly belonging to the boy’s father. His parents have since hired an attorney and informed him not to speak to the police.

What makes this incident even more chilling, is the fact, that Crumbley posted an image of his “new beauty” online, as per Buzzfeed, along with a worrying caption…

The teen shared a photo of the weapon on Instagram with the caption: “Just got my new beauty today 😍 SIG SAUER 9mm. Ask any questions I will answer,” according to screenshots of his post being shared on social media.

But Crumbley’s social media posts aren’t the only concerning behavior he has been showing.

A sheriff has revealed that 2 teachers reported concerning behavior from Crumbley in the days prior prompting a meeting to take place just hours before the shooting.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard revealed to CNN’s Brianna Keilar that a behavior report was first made when “a teacher in the classroom where he was a student saw and heard something that she felt was disturbing.”

This occurred on Monday and “they had a counseling session about it with school officials, and a phone call was left with the parents.”

But then, on Tuesday, the same day of the shooting, another teacher reported concerning behavior.

Crumbley was taken down to the school office where they had a meeting with officials and his parents were called, however it was decided that he could return to class.

“A different teacher in a different classroom saw some behavior that they felt was concerning, and they brought the child down to an office, had a meeting with school officials, called in the parents, and ultimately it was determined that he could go back into class.”

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard has said that the shooter used a 9 mm Sig Sauer gun, a weapon that was purchased just a week before the boy opened fire on fellow students.

1 thing people on social media were disgusted with, was the alleged shooters access to the weapon.

As we know, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald charged Crumbley with murder and terrorism.

But now, 2 other people have been charged – his parents.

“Owning a gun means securing it properly and locking it and keeping the ammunition separate,” she said in a press conference, McDonald said yesterday.

Yesterday, both Crumbley’s mother and father were charged with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The charges against James and Jennifer Crumbley were filed yesterday morning in 52nd District Court in Rochester Hills.

“What the prosecutor is saying is, let’s look at the parents’ responsibility. This is really a new frontier,” Honig said.

A fugitive task force then began searching for the pair.

Just hours after the charges were announced, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said that authorities were searching for Crumbley’s parents and that a “fugitive apprehension team” were looking for them…

After briefly going on the run, a frantic police search began for the pair.

The parents had not appeared as scheduled for their arraignment and went missing mere hours after being charged.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard told CNN:

“If they think they are going to get away, they are not.”

Sheriff Bouchard then confirmed that the parents were missing.

However after a relatively short but frantic search, the couple were found hiding in the basement of a Detroit building in the early hours of Saturday morning after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public who’d spotted the vehicle parked outside.

Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe told a local newspaper, The Detroit Free Press:

“The owner of the building arrived and saw the car in the back parking lot, knew it didn’t belong there and went to investigate.”

They were arrested at 1:45am local time.

It was then confirmed that the couple had pleaded not guilty.

Footage of the pair in court showed them laughing and weeping.

According to the Daily Beast, Jennifer cried as she said she understood the charges against her, whereas James smiled, laughed, shook his head. He also raised his eyebrows at various points.

Prosecutor Karen McDonald said:

“These are not people that we can be assured are going to return to court on their own.”

It was at this moment that James laughed.

Their defence lawyer, Sharon Smith, said that Ethan’s parents were not running away.

Smith added that they planned to turn themselves in once their affairs were in order.

At Saturday’s arraignment, the judge ordered they each be held on $500,000 with no 10% bond.

They will also submit to drug testing and be fitted with a GPS monitor if they are able to meet bond. They too were asked to surrender any weapons to the sheriff’s office.
