Euphoria came to HBO on June 16th 2019…

And, from the very first episode, the world knew that we weren’t in store for your typical, saccharine-sweet teen drama series. Euphoria offered something completely different.

It gives an uncensored look into the pressures faced by modern-day teens.

The story essentially revolves around a group of high-school students in suburban Los Angeles, struggling with deep-seated issues.

Each has their own story to tell.

And the intertwining storylines faced by each of the series’ leads ingeniously represent the different things that affect Generation Z — as horrifying as that may be to parents!

From teenage drug addict, Rue, and wannabe it-girl, Maddie, to the human boiling pot of repressed rage, Nate, each character has incredible depth…

And in spite of the extreme nature of the plot, there’s also a lot of believability.

There are a lot of difficult topics dealt with in the show…

It tackles issues such as mental illness, substance abuse, addiction, varying s*xualities, leaked nudes, self-harm, s*xual violence, and loneliness. And that’s just in the first episode.

It also has a lot of intimate scenes…

If you’re not super brave, we don’t recommend watching it with anyone that you’re not 100% comfortable with — or you risk a pretty awkward situation.

The show also features heavy drug use.

And, when you combine this with the age of the characters — and, let’s face it, the age of the actors — this can make for some pretty shocking viewing.

Many believed that the show was just too hardcore and called for it to be removed from our screens.

Of course, this just added to Euphoria’s mystique, and most likely contributed to the show’s popularity.

Pretending that these situations don’t trouble teens of today won’t stop them from happening.

One of the scenes in season 2 even left fans of the show certain that Zendaya would receive an award for her portrayal of a drug addict.

Season 1 ended with Rue breaking her 3-month sobriety by relapsing on her bed, where the scene turns into a trippy musical number…

Which left most of us worrying she might have overdosed.

However, fans were delighted to see that their favorite character hadn’t died, but instead had embarked on a long road to recovery…

One that didn’t go all too well.

On one episode of Euphoria, titled Stand Still Like the Hummingbird, we saw Rue have a total breakdown…

As a result of mom and Jules taking her suitcase filled with drugs.

And viewers were taken back by Zendaya’s acting.

Many believe she deserved an award for her performance.

But Zendaya isn’t the only one catching people’s attention after the latest season.

Many have grown to love one character in particular.

The charming drug dealer Fezco, played by Angus Cloud.

Now, he might not be the most conventionally lovable character, but his warmhearted nature is something we all instantly fell for.

In the show, fans got to see Fez’s difficult upbringing, living with his drug-dealing grandmother and adopted brother, Ashtray.

Fans were understandably intrigued by his character and the man who played him.

One thing that fans often question is the noticeable scar on his head, with some even asking if it was SFX makeup for his character.

And now Cloud has opened up about how he got the scar and the terrifying ordeal that led to it.

In an interview with Variety on August 10, the star revealed that the scar is very much real, admitting: “I broke my skull on Friday the 13th.”

“I woke up 12 hours later at the bottom. I was trapped,” he continued.

He shared that it happened when he was walking home in the dark through a construction site in 2013.

Shockingly, he fell into a pit, and lost consciousness.

Suffering a broken skull, broken fingers, and internal bleeding, Cloud admitted he went into “survival mode.”

“They wasn’t gonna find me down there,” he said, so after coming round, he decided to try and escape.

“I eventually climbed out after — I don’t know how long,” he recalled.

“It was hella hard to climb out because my skull was broken, but my skin wasn’t, so all the bleeding was internal, pressing up against my brain.”

After escaping from the pit, Cloud revealed that he took a bus home, where he was later urged to go to the hospital by his mom after admitting that he was planning on just sleeping it off.

“I would have died,” he noted. “She gave me some water, and I started throwing up hella mouthfuls of crimson red blood.”

The scar was a result of the surgery that he received at the hospital for his cracked skull.

“They cut my head open,” he shared. “They put some screws and a plate over where I broke my skull and s**t, sealed me back up, and that was that.”

Cloud has since admitted he is “so blessed to just have minor brain damage.”
