Shakira has posted a photo on Twitter which sparked concern from her fans.
It comes as she was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently.
“You don’t have to give explanations to anyone in your private life, much less when it comes to something about your family that is not in the artistic environment. Blessings to you and your dad, may he recover soon,” one person wrote underneath her post.
“May God bless you Shakira and her parents and speedy recovery,” another person wrote.
Somebody else wrote: “Shakira, I hope your daddy recovers favorably!! And for you, head held high and encouragement and strength, you don’t lack!”
Her Twitter fans showed much concern after the singer announced her father had a bad fall on May, 28.
Taking to Twitter, sharing a statement in both Spanish and English, the star explained what had happened: “Guys, I’m getting a lot of messages of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently. I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th),” she began.
“My dad, unfortunately, had a bad fall,” the star continued.
“I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now. Please do send all your best wishes his way and thank you all as always for all your love and support,” the singer finished.
Alongside Shakira’s statement was a sweet photo of her and her father sharing a loving moment after the accident.
Shakira can be seen gently holding her father’s face while kissing him on the cheek. Her father has visible bruising with a bandage on his forehead.

Her fans also showed concern for the singer’s well-being after the announcement that she and her boyfriend of twelve years split. Gerard Piqué is a professional soccer player, and shares 2 children with Shakira; Milan and Sasha.
The couple met when Shakira was promoting her world-cup anthem, ‘Waka Waka’, in 2010, and they struck up a relationship in 2011.
They had their first child, Milan Piqué Mebarak, in 2013, followed closely by Sasha Piqué Mebarak in 2015.
