He moved around frequently until finally settling in Oakland, California, where he attended high school.

Hanks attended junior college in Hayward, California, at which he eventually decided to pursue acting after reading and watching a performance of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh.

He was transferred into a theater program at California State University.

In 1977, he was recruited to take part in the summer session of the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival in Lakewood, Ohio.

He spent the following 3 years acting in various Shakespeare productions and portrayals and he spent his winters working backstage at a community theater company in Sacramento.

After dropping out of college in 1980 and moving to New York City, he began landing small roles in movies and TV shows, such as slasher horror, He Knows You’re Alone, and the sitcom series, Bosom Buddies.

But, in 1984, Hanks got his first leading role in Splash, a movie about a young man who falls in love with a mermaid.

But that wasn’t all…

Big saw Hanks play a thirteen-year-old boy whose body was transferred into the body of a fully grown man overnight. It sounds a little strange, but it is a fantastic movie.

And he continued to rise into the world of acting.

He starred in many smaller productions in the following years until he bagged the leading roles in A League Of Their Own in 1992, and Sleepless in Seattle in 1993.

Forrest Gump is probably one of Hank’s most recognizable performances.

Forrest Gump, which was released in 1994, followed the story of an Alabama man with a low IQ living through some of America’s most iconic and life-changing events, such as the presidencies of J.F Kennedy and Johnson, the Vietnam war, and Watergate.

It was truly amazing.

And Hanks’ portrayal of the loyal Forrest Gump caused the entire world to fall in love with him.

True to predictions, Forrest Gump was a phenomenal success and it won Oscars for best picture and director.

Hanks took home a Lead Actor Oscar award and he was also awarded an Academy Award for Best Actor in the 1993 movie, Philadelphia, in which his portrayal as a man diagnosed with AIDS was considered honorable and, quite simply, magnificent.

Every movie since has had people celebrating the actor.

These include leading and starring roles in Apollo 13 and Disney Pixar’s Toy Story in 1995. Hanks’ voiceover of Woody the Cowboy would span for generations.

Toy Story made movie history…

Back in 1995, when Disney’s Pixar was just starting out, Toy Story was the first of its kind.

Speaking in an interview, Ed Catmull, who is now the Pixar and Disney Animation president, said: “At that point, none of us knew what we were doing. We didn’t have any production expertise except for short films and commercials. So we were all complete novices.”

Toy Story’s success has been credited to Hanks in the past for his incredible portrayal of Woody the Cowboy and giving him that iconic voice we all know.

Throughout the production of the Toy Story franchise, Hanks went on to star in even more movies…

This includes the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Green Mile in 1995, Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan in 1998, and Cast Away in 2000.

There’s truly no stopping him…

He’s a family man too.

And in 1990, his son Chet was born.

Chet is an actor and musician too.

However, he has also been making more of a name for himself for his Instagram videos.

And last year, one video, in particular, caused quite a stir.

With Chet being labeled problematic for the video in which he claims 2021 will be a ‘White Boy Summer.’

In the video, Chet says: “Okay guys, look I just wanted to tap in really quick. I just got this feeling, man, that this summer is about to be a white boy summer, you know? Take it how you want.”

“I’m not talking about Trump, you know, NASCAR type white. I’m talking about me, Jon B, Jack Harlow type white boy summer.

“Let me know if you guys can vibe with that and get ready, because I am.”

But recently, Chet has drawn attention for a different reason after he shared a video to YouTube speaking about what it was like to grow up as a Hanks.

In the video, he said that a question he is asked most commonly is what it’s like to be the son of Tom Hanks.

He described the moment he was invited to the White House to meet George W. Bush with his mom and dad, and the former President asked what it was like to grow up as a Hanks.

“Well Mr. President, there are a lot of advantages but sometimes it can be pretty weird,” he recalled himself saying.

He believes that it’s still the same to this day, as well.

He expressed that he is grateful for being “very blessed” and said that he wouldn’t change his situation because he “loves his parents,” and wouldn’t want “different” parents.

However, he added that not many people understand that there are negatives to being famous.

“Seeking validation from fame and from others only amplifies your misery, true validation can only come from within yourself.”

  via Getty Images

“I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition and that created a lot of contempt for me. My dad is beloved, he’s on this pedestal. But for me, it created a lot of contempt,” he continued on.

He then talks about people’s perspective on him, saying people assumed he’d be an “arrogant, entitled, spoilt brat.”

“My parents didn’t spoil me,” he explained as he told his YouTube followers that his parents made him work for everything that he has today.

Chet was grateful for his father’s approach too.

He said that when wealthy people spoil their children, it: “Kills any ambition” within them. But, Chet was still judged by everybody for being the son of Tom Hanks.

“People would make up their minds about me before they even to got a chance know me and it was extremely hard to break down their wall,” he said.

Continuing on, he said: “Everybody was prepared to hate my guts.” And this is why he felt the need to create a “hard exterior,” so that it wouldn’t bother him when people said things behind his back.

Chet also found it hard because he was always Tom Hanks’ son before he was Chet Hanks.

And for that, he couldn’t make many friends, only having a few close friends he had known since he was a baby. But, the now thirty-one-year-old now thinks that he has “nothing to prove to anyone.” And rightly, so.

Chet later went on to say that “the truth is that I haven’t given you the whole truth.”

  via Getty Images

“Everything I’ve said thus far is true, but it’s just the surface. It’s scary for me to be vulnerable like this. Putting myself out on YouTube like this,” he said.

“The truth is, people, projecting, judging me, hating on me, it didn’t just make me angry, it didn’t just make me hostile.”

Chet said that the judgment also made him feel ashamed and that he wouldn’t ever amount to anything.

  via Getty Images

“Those people who treated me less than and made me feel worthless like I didn’t deserve to be who I was and to have any recognition, that I was just some brat, I believed them, and I internalized it, and I did feel worthless, I did feel like I didn’t deserve to be in my position.”

In the video, Chet also spoke about how he felt that he didn’t have a “strong male role model” when growing up.

And it seems that people weren’t too happy about his comment…

He spoke about how he realized that people were “jealous” of him because he had something they admired.

  via Getty Images

“People will project onto you, their own insecurities,” he said.

“I needed to hear that as a kid. I didn’t have like a strong male role model to tell me that. To tell me ‘Hey bro f*** these people they’re just jealous of you.”

  via Getty Images

Chet continued to say that he had “all these things that they want, so they are trying to f***ing throw their shade at you so you can feel s***ty about yourself because they are jealous.”

It seemed he had a lot to get off his chest.

But now, people are getting worried about Chet’s dad…

Saying that he couldn’t control the shaking of his hand.

This came as the Australian premiere for Baz Luhrmann’s biopic of Elvis, as per The Daily Mail, which took place on June 4.

  via Getty Images

Hanks, who spoke at the premiere, seemed as though he could not control his hand from shaking.

In the video, Hanks talks about the biopic, which everyone is excited to see, and you can see him having trouble while holding the microphone.

  via Getty Images

“There is no better place in the world to film a motion picture than right here on the Gold Coast,” Hanks began. The actor then talked about the places he’s been to while shooting films, expressing that none “have what the Gold Cost” has.

At this point, his left hand was in his pocket, with the right clutching the microphone, eliciting cheers from the audience around him.

As Hanks began to praise Dan Murphy as the reason the Gold Coast is so amazing, he clutched the microphone with both hands, as his right hand subtly shook.

He then tried to switch hands, but his hand continued to shake when he switched back once more.

And even though it has a lot of people speculating, no confirmation has been released.

We hope Hanks is ok! What do you think?
