First-ever gay parents could potentially make history by printing 3 names on the birth certificate, and it’s so exciting. Here’s everything you need to know.
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, Barrie’s fiance Scott Hutchison, and his ex-husband Tony, have had some rather exciting news…
They’re having triplets. Yay.
And they already have 6 children, too.
“It is the most incredible feeling. We are thrilled. Family is everything,” pappa Bear Barrie said to the Mirror.
Twenty-one years ago, Barrie, fifty-one, and Tony fifty-six, became the first-ever same-sex couple to become registered as parents.
And now, they’ve spent over $1 million to complete their IVF herd, who will be welcomed to their pack next year.
But, what’s happening with the IVF embryos? You might be wondering.
Well, an American surrogate will be carrying the 3 embryos, and 2 of them are the DNA of Barrie and his ex-husband Tony, which were from the embryos that welcomed their 3 eldest children; Saffron, twenty-two, Aspen, twenty-two, and their brother Orlando, seventeen, into the world, as per Lancs Live.
But, the 3rd embryo will be the twin of Barrie and his fiance’s fifteen-month-old daughter.
And when welcomed to the world next year, the family of 9, will become a family of twelve.
But, it’s not only this news that’s melted the heart of many people across social media.
Barrie and Tony, as we know, became the first same-sex couple registered as parents in year 1999, and now, they’ll be including 3 people; Barrie, Scott, and Tony, on the birth certificate, hopefully making history in the United Kingdom. Exciting, right?
And honestly, it’s so wholesome seeing just how over the moon Barrie is about their news.
“I am as excited about this pregnancy as I was about the first,” Barrie continued.
“I never thought I would be going down this road again but I’m so in love with Scott and have so enjoyed having Valentina, that when Scott said he’d love to do it again I jumped at the chance. And here we are, pregnant yet again. I love it.”
You really never know what’s around the corner, and it always makes it all the more special.
And now, Billie isn’t about to choose whether Scott or Tony are going to be displayed on the birth certificate, saying there are going to be 3 parents all together, not 2.
“If I have three children we will have parent one, two, and three, and I will challenge the law again,” he said.
But wait…How do the family live together? And why is the ex still with them?
Well, Tony still lives with Barrie, even though they separated in 2019, and so does Scott, Barrie’s fiance, and the family get on so well, always putting their children 1st.
We can’t wait for next year! What do you think?
