A couple surprised a teenage babysitter, after they paid her more than she expected!
It all started when a couple found out their babysitter got paid $20 for all the hard work she did.

A man who goes by the name of OuterInnerMonologue, shared his heartwarming story online of how he paid his teenage babysitter a “fair wage.”
Recalling what happened, the father said his friends already had a “babysitter lined up,” and said she had been over “numerous times before,” but it was her “first time doing the job alone” – this time with 5 children!
Some online users just couldn’t believe a teenager was babysitting 5 children.
“There were, in all, 5 children. That’s a hell of a job for anyone, let alone a teen,” said an online user.
But it was the pay the couple gave the teenager that raised a lot of eyebrows.
Then the father asked his friend the rate babysitters got paid and he was absolutely flabbergasted at his response…
“I was shocked. I said no way! I’ve never had a babysitter. but $20 bucks for 5 kids over 3-4 hours is pretty terrible, recalled the father.
But he said that on his Uber ride back home, he and his wife came up with something.
“On our Uber ride home my wife came up with $15/hr per kid, per hour. we were thinking $10 for a first time but that would be for an easier gig. Not f**king kids. Granted most were self sufficient but we’re not monsters and our kids are not saints,” shared the dad.
But the couple indeed figured it out!
“We figured 5 kids, 4 hours, 15/kid = $300. so we gave her $350 to include a thanks for not killing our kids bonus,” said the dad.
He added that he felt happy to give her that bonus and even revealed how the babysitter reacted.
“Her jaw literally dropped. She turned bright red and said holy s**t I’m sorry for swearing.. but holy s**t.”
“I asked her what she was expecting. She said “my mom and I didn’t know what to think. We figured maybe $20 bucks.”
But it’s the fathers response that is winning hearts online.
“I looked at her dead in the eye and said listen. watching kids matters to adults so never think it doesn’t. These kids were fed, ready for bed, and happy when we got home. That’s more than can be expected. We figured 10-15/hr per kid. So we probably got a deal. Don’t ever sell yourself short. You don’t need to be stressed out all night for the price of one movie ticket. We appreciate you. So thank you for being worth it.”
The father then said the babysitter got a bit emotional and continued to praise the babysitter who did a good job.
“That kid was awesome. I hope she goes on through life knowing her worth and never takes chump change or anything less than her worth,” he concluded.
Since sharing the story online, it has received 23k views and users have “praised” the parents.
While one user pointed out that “two kids doesn’t necessarily mean double the money.”
