Former NBA First-Round Pick Caleb Swanigan Has Died Aged 25

The former NBA First-Round Pick, Caleb Swanigan, has heartbreakingly passed away at the age of just twenty-five.

Caleb Swanigan was an American professional basketball player playing for Purdue Boilermakers, a college basketball team.

The star, born in 1997, was also picked in the 2017 NBA draft, too.

A spokesperson for the Allen County Coroner’s Office in Indiana announced that the twenty-five-year-old talent died of natural causes, as per TMZ.

The Purdue Men’s basketball team, who the young star played for, also spoke out paying tribute to Swanigan in a Twitter post.

“Devastated,” they began in the post.

“Our thoughts and prayers to Caleb Swanigan’s family and friends. The world lost a gentle soul last night. Love you, Biggie,” it finished.

According to TMZ, the basketball player averaged 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game…

Many took to Twitter to further pay tribute to the star after his college team broke the news…

“So sorry to hear this. Sending condolences from Hoosier Nation. Our thoughts & prayers to Caleb’s family, friends, coaches & teammates,” the Indiana Basketball team said.

“Way too young… life is so much more than hoops or a scale. Praying for all his closest friends and teammates,” wrote somebody else.

He passed away on June 20.
