Tony Siragusa, the defensive tackle for Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens, has sadly passed away at fifty-five years old.
People have been left distraught.
“This is one of the saddest days in Ravens history. The deaths of Jaylen Ferguson and Tony Siragusa on the same day leaves every Ravens fan stunned. A player so young with potential, and a legend who brought so joy and impact to the field. Gone. Tough to wrap your head around,” wrote Gerry Sandusky on Twitter.
“Prayers up for the legend Tony Siragusa and his family. “The Goose” has passed away at the age of 55. Heartbreaking,” Robert Griffin wrote.
Siragusa, who played with the NFL for twelve seasons, was an incredible asset to football, and a legend to everybody who supported him.
He began his career in college with the Pittsburgh Panthers, who also paid tribute to the star, and said: “Rest In Peace, Tony Siragusa.”
He then went on to play with the Indianapolis Colts from 1990 up until 1996. He continued his career with the Baltimore Ravens from 1997 until 2001. Later, in 2003, he became a sideline reporter for Fox Sports until 2015, as per CNN.
The Baltimore Ravens took to Twitter to pay a heart-melting tribute to the player yesterday…
“Renee and I are stunned and heartbroken to learn about the sudden passing of Tony Siragusa,” Baltimore Ravens Owner, Scott Bisciotti began.
“He was a special person and clearly one of the most popular players in Raven history. Tony’s larger-than-life personality made an enormous impact on our organization and throughout the Baltimore community.
“On the football field, Goose was a difference-maker who contributed immeasurably to the success of many great Ravens defenses, including the record-setting 2000 Super Bowl team. Our deepest prayers and sympathies go out to Kathy, their three children, and the rest of the Siragusa family,” it said.
There have been no details surrounding the football star’s death.
And the Ravens team has asked for respect in this heartbreaking time.
We cannot imagine how Siragusa’s family and friends are feeling, right now.
