NHL defender Bryan Marchment has sadly passed away, according to reports in TMZ.

Bryan was 53 years old and was supposed to attend a “draft later this week,” as reported by a media outlet.
But he suddenly passed away in Montreal.

And according to reports, no cause of death has been revealed yet…
As condolences from the National Hockey League have surfaced online.

“The National Hockey League mourns the passing of San Jose Sharks scout and former NHL player Bryan Marchment,” the league said in a statement.
While they also offered condolences to his fans and family.

“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, the Sharks organization, and Bryan’s many friends, former teammates, and fans,” read the statement.
Talking about his career, Bryan made his debut for the Winnipeg Jets at the age of 19, while being selected in the 1987 draft- and according to TMZ the ace defender played 17 total seasons in the NHL.

It was only after he retired in 2006, that Bryan became a scout for the Sharks in the following year.
Bryan then attended the NHL’s draft when “he unexpectedly passed away,” according to reports.
