Having pets is one of life's many joys, and it has been proven that having an animal in your life actually improves your overall wellbeing and happiness.
But sadly, not everyone can own a pet, whether that's due to financial difficulties or a very annoying landlord.
4 housemates found themselves in this predicament, and when they noticed their neighbor's pooch, they couldn't resist asking that fateful question.

Who doesn't love pets?Having a pet is the true meaning of happiness... in our opinions, anyway!
Having pets is actually good for you...It has been proven that having a furry friend decreases blood pressure and stress, increases motivation, and even tackles loneliness.
But not everybody can own a pet...Sadly, many people struggle to afford to maintain a pet. It isn't always cheap looking after and caring for an animal.
And for those who rent a property...The sad reality is that not all landlords allow pets.
Who on Earth wouldn't allow a pet in the house?!Well, apart from the smell and the mess... but still, it's pretty unfair on all of those animal lovers out there.
4 housemates recently experienced this very problem...Twenty-three-year-old Jack McCrossan, who is currently living in Bristol, U.K. shares a rented house with 3 of his friends.
All 4 of the young men have grown up with pets...But, of course, their new landlord laid down a strict "no pets" rule.
But Jack and his friends noticed something exciting...Their neighbor was the owner of a black labrador who they noticed from their window.
The friends decided to take a chance...So they wrote a letter to their neighbor, politely asking if they could walk her dog every now and then.
Jack shared their hopeful letter on Twitter...

Unbelievably...The friends received a response, but not from their neighbor...
"Stevie Ticks" herself sent the boys a reply...Her owners, who are called Chris and Sarah, were more than happy for the hopeful boys to spend some time with their beloved pet. "I love meeting new people and it would be great if we can be friends. I must warn you that the price of my friendship is 5 x ball throws a day and belly scratches whenever I demand them," she wrote.
The neighbors were very happy to cooperate with the boy's needs...The letter finished with, "We here understand how hard it is to find pet-friendly rentals - and life just isn't full without a dog in it - right?! I'd love to hang whenever you fancy," along with Stevie's owner's contact details to arrange a meetup time.
Jack decided to tweet about this wholesome experience...And it went completely viral overnight.
People began to send in their love and praise...
