Full House first hit screens in 1987, introducing fans to the beloved and unconventional, Tanner family.

Most people will recognize the family sitcom as being the show to launch the Olsen twins into television stardom.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were just one year old when the show first began airing, starring as the adorable Michelle Tanner.

The show was a smash hit with fans.

The show centers on widower, Danny, as he raises his 3 little girls with the help of his musician brother-in-law, Jesse (John Stamos), and his best friend, comedian Joey (Dave Coulier).

As the seasons went on, we were introduced to some familiar faces.

Most famously, Danny's morning show co-host, Becky, was introduced during season 2 played by Lori Loughlin, (who is now facing criminal charges. Keep scrolling to read all about this). In time, she ended up marrying Jesse, earning her the title of Aunt Becky.

Full House ran for a whopping eight seasons, before closing its doors in 1995.

Though fans were devasted to see it go, with its child cast getting older, the show had run its cause and it was time to wrap up filming.

But, the Tanner family story wasn't over...

In 2016, fans were thrilled to learn that Netflix had commissioned a sequel to the hit series, aptly named, Fuller House.

The best news? It included (most of) the original cast who are now all grown up...

Candace Cameron Bure reprised her ole as the eldest of the siblings, DJ Tanner, Jodie Sweetin returned as middle child, Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber stepped back into the shoes of the hilarious next-door neighbor, Kimmy Gibbler. Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier also reprised their roles for guest appearances in the show.

Sadly, the Olsen twins didn't reprise their roles as the adorable Michelle Tanner.

When the spin-off series was first announced back in 2015, fans were praying for the Olsen twins to return to acting, but sadly, it didn't happen. At first, it didn't seem totally impossible that they'd step back into the role of Michelle, with Mary Kate at one point saying they would talk to producers. But it wasn't meant to be, with the fashion moguls later declining to partake.

Dave Coulier has a very simple theory over why the twins declined to be a part of Fuller House.

"I think they have a different perspective," he explained. "When we get together and we reminisce, they were babies [at the time]. So they don't share those same memories. I can't really speak for them but I would understand why they don't have the same sentiments that we all do."

Fuller House has ran for a total of 4 seasons so far.

And the much-loved spin-off series will reportedly conclude with the second half of its fifth and final season.

But there remains one highlight of the Full House franchise...

The family's dog.

We were delighted to see that the tradition continued through to Fuller House

Cosmo was a true highlight of the series, as was Comet, the dog who starred in the original.

Cosmo has been a part of Fuller House since day 1...

But there's been some tragic news. Cosmo has sadly passed away aged 4.

He reportedly passed away due to surgery complications.

The show's Twitter account announced the sad news yesterday. "We're sad to share that the Fullers' faithful dog Cosmo, who grew up on our set, passed away after complications from surgery," the tweet said of the dog, who answered by the same name on the show and in real life. "There will never be another quite like our boy. We'll miss him forever." Heartbreaking. R.I.P. Cosmo. Sadly, he's not the only famous face we've lost this year.
