If you’ve scrolled through Twitter at any point since May, you’ll probably be aware of the hype surrounding Game of Thrones, or, more specifically, the outrage at the season 8 finale.

Whether you declare yourself an avid fan or have never laid eyes on the show, chances are, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s been going on thanks to social media, and it seems like many viewers were not impressed with how the show wrapped it all up.

But one fan has taken this to new heights, rewriting the entire ending to season 8, and people are saying that it’s so much better than the original.

The best part? He’s made put it all into a video for us to enjoy.

So, if you somehow weren’t aware, Game of Thrones aired its last ever episode in May.

HBO’s fantasy series closed its doors after 8 seasons.

It seems like the long-anticipated final ever episode didn’t live up to expectations.

To put it simply, the drama centers around nine families who fight for control over the mythical land of Westeros. Obviously, much more goes on, but for those who literally have no idea what the show is about, you get the general picture.

In the US alone, over seventeen million viewers tuned in to watch the final episode “The Iron Throne.” During the intense eighty minutes, we saw Jon Snow murder Dany in cold blood. Meanwhile, Bran was named king, Sansa peaced out to rule the North, Jon went back to the Wall, and Tyrion was named Hand of the King. And breathe…

The finale has an overall rating of 4.2 out of 10 – which is pretty dire compared to the others, which have earnt respectable 8s and 9s.

Twitter quickly became a sea of disappointed and angry tweets as well as, you guessed it, memes and more memes.

After 8 long seasons, people were feeling pretty sold short.

Safe to say, they weren’t a fan of the finale.

The character had undergone a massive change – transforming from the Breaker of Chains and rightful heir to the throne, to another mad Targaryen, killing thousands of innocents.

According to director, Miguel Saponchnik, the shocking change came because “she feels empty due to everything that’s happened to her and the surrender being too easy — ‘It wasn’t what she thought it was. It’s not enough.”

It seems that there’s no getting away from the widespread disappointment.

This user said the show had been “ruined.”

Yes, this did actually happen. Despite seeming a little over dramatic, the petition got over 1 million signatures.

It seems like fans really weren’t lying when they said tht they were annoyed, claiming that the “series deserves a final season that makes sense.” Savage.

He has decided to take matters into his own hands by re-imagining season 8, most importantly, re-shaping the finale.

It looks like fans may be more satisfied watching Whidden’s rendition. Don’t worry, the full video is coming your way very soon.

“We start with episode three, the Battle of Winterfell. And for the most part, this episode will play out much like it did in the real version. “The combined forces of the Unsullied, the Dothraki, Northman, and wildlings face off against the Night King and his undead hord,” explains Whidden. He continues: “Meanwhile, Cersei, the Golden Company and the Iron Fleet chill in King’s Landing having reneged on their promise to help in the upcoming war. But this episode will have one major difference that will completely change the episodes to come. “The Night King will be victorious and the remaining forces of Winterfell will be forced to retreat to King’s Landing.”

He explains that wouldn’t have put Tyrion Lannister, the children, and the women in the Winterfell crypts, describing it as “lazy writing.” Alternatively, he would have moved them to the main hall, which he believes would still have had an “emotionally visceral” impact. Another change would see Daenerys and Jon taking on the Night King while riding dragons, similar to the original version. However, in Whidden’s version, a series of events leads to Jon facing off the Night King in a sword battle.

The video already has 5 million views from fans eager to get justice for the series.

Hopefully, this ending will leave everyone considerably less disappointed.
