Her career in news reporting led her to meet her best friend, Oprah Winfrey.

But at the time, they just didn’t know how close they would really be.

The pair met at the Baltimore television station way before they entered the public eye.

But how did they become such good friends?

It all started when there was a snowstorm in Baltimore.

Winfrey suggested that King makes the perilous journey back home to her parent’s house.

But King was reluctant to go home at first, nothing that she didn’t have any clothes to change into.

Winfrey then ended up letting King borrow her clothes.

The pair spent the evening talking, laughing, gossiping, and forming their friendship.

But what drew them even closer is the fact they share the same philosophies in life.

And not only that but even disliked the same people at work!

King would eventually move to Kansas City to become a news anchor.

As for Winfrey, she was making her mark in Chicago.
