Supermodel Gigi Hadid has released a lengthy statement urging paparazzi to blur her baby's face if they take any photographs of her while she's out in public.
Taking to Instagram, the twenty-six-year-old wrote an open letter via her Instagram Stories to fans and particularly, news outlets and photographers, saying this: "As our baby grows up we have to realize that we can't protect her from everything the way we wanted to and could when she was smaller. She loves seeing the world! And although she gets a lot of that out near the farm, she also gets to experience new places — a true blessing."
Hadid went on to say talk about a recent trip to New York where baby Khai wanted to check things out via her stroller and didn't enjoy being covered up but that obviously leaves her susceptible to paparazzi photos.
"She doesn't understand why she's covered in the city or what I've wanted to protect her from," Hadid continued. "I also want her to see the most amazing city in the world — the beautiful and diverse people that walk down the streets of NYC ... that is, without the stress of the media circus that comes with parents who are public figures.
"I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope you can understand where I'm coming from," she concluded.
Gigi Hadid has written an open letter to the paparazzi, press, and fan accounts about her daughter Khai Malik:

Hadid continued, adding that she hopes photographers will respect her family's decision and blur baby Khai's face out if they snap pictures of the family out and about.
"You know we have never intentionally shared our daughter's face on social media. Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age and that she can live as normal a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen," Gigi wrote. "It would mean the world to us, as we take our daughter to see and explore NYC and the world if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images if and when she is caught on camera. I know it's an extra effort, but as a new mom, I just want the best for my baby, as all parents do."
The news comes after Hadid and former One Direction boy band member, Zayn Malik, welcomed their first child together in September 2020. Malik announced that Hadid had given birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl on September 23rd after a fourteen-hour home birth.
"Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful," he wrote on Instagram. "To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together."
While Hadid has posted multiple photos online with her daughter, none of them actually reveal her face and even though we all want to put a face to the name, we should respect the family's wishes.
