Following all the backlash surrounding Gina Carano's sacking, the actress has come forward with some shocking claims against Disney+...
Carano has dominated headlines of late.
But it turns out there's more to the story than meets the eye.
She was dropped by Disney following some horrific comments.
But it turns out her issues go way further back than anyone knew.
Now, you may know Carano for many things, as she had a pretty accomplished career.
Her talents started out in mixed martial arts (MMA) and fitness before she made the move into the world of acting.
And since then, she's had parts in some major blockbusters...
Including Fast and Furious 6, Deadpool, and Haywire.
But her most notable role was from The Mandalorian.
Her fame skyrocketed when she took on the role of Cara Dune.
When it first hit screens, The Mandalorian completely won over viewers.
via: imdbThe original sci-fi spin-off series, set in the Star Wars universe, drew in significant praise from fans. But now it seems fans are boycotting Gina Carano over her latest controversial Tweets...
The series is set 5 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
via: imdbDirected by Bryce Dallas Howard, best known for playing Claire Dearing in Jurassic World, The Mandalorian offers Star Wars fans a tantalizing new live-action spin-off of the beloved franchise.
And it was the first of its kind on the Disney +.
via: imdbThe Mandolorian well and truly keeps the franchise alive - offering what many are describing as a "gritter" take on the universe.
The show chronicles the story of a galactic bounty hunter, Dyn Jarren.
via: imdbBoasting an impressive cast including the likes of Narcos' Pedro Pascal in the leading role, viewers watch as Dyn attempts to survive in the aftermath of the Empire’s collapse.
It takes a much darker approach than other Star Wars spinoffs.
Far from the authority of the New Republic, we get to see the adventures of the lone gunfighter as he reaches the outer edges of the universe. Meaning we were bound to see some new, never-seen-before locales.
However, the success of the show might have been tarnished by Gina Carano's latest antics.
Things have gotten pretty heated on social media lately, given the fact actress was posting some pretty controversial stuff on her profiles.
Calls for her to be fired started pretty early on.
She didn't set herself up well when she shared conspiracy-focused memes and tweets from her account.
Not only that, but she also liked posts disparaging Black Lives Matter...
We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today.— Gina Carano 🕯 (@ginacarano) November 5, 2020
Put laws in place that protect us against voter fraud.
Investigate every state.
Film the counting.
Flush out the fake votes.
Make Voter Fraud end in 2020.
Fix the system. 🇺🇸
And the use of the correct pronouns.
And it didn't stop there...
From ridiculing mask mandates, to emphasizing (without hard proof) that there was "voter fraud" going on at the elections, Carano really managed to ruffle more than a few feathers.
Her latest stunt on Instagram also saw her comparing being a republican to being a "Jew during the Holocaust..."
Problematic isn't even the word for disgusting comparisons such as this one.
Things have gotten so bad that a spokesperson for Lucasfilm spoke out to let people know that the actress is no longer employed by them.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the actress.
In a statement obtained by io9, a spokesperson outlined their company's views on the matter, saying this:
"Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future."
"Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."
But now, Carano has spoken out.
In a controversial interview with Ben Shaprio, she's accused Disney of bullying her.
"I've been through so much, and I've seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that's been taking place, and I saw it before."
"I'm not the only one that's ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply."
"I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can't because it would sell out a friend... Everyone is afraid of losing their job."
Once Disney "point their guns at you" it's "only a matter of time," she claims.
