Am I the only one who has the strange habit of collecting keys? I still have the front and back door keys for every house I've ever lived in, which, now that I think about it, might not even be legal. Why do I do this? Why must I insist on shoving a giant, unruly jumble of keys into my purse that I have to filter through every time I need to lock my door? There must be a better way.

I'd become a key hoarder. I'm not sure how it happened, but I'd managed to accumulate 27 different keys throughout my adult life, most of which I had no idea what lock they even opened.
