Cancel all the plans you have! Because Grace and Frankie is back on Netflix with some surprise episodes for the seventh and final season.

Now I know, all good things come to an end, but the filming of the final season of Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris' comedy is one that will hit hard. Starring legendary actresses Oscar-winning Jane Fonda and Emmy-winning Lily Tomlin, filming of the comedy series were halted in March 2020 due to COVID-19.

The remaining twelve episodes of season 7 will be released in 2022, however, dates are yet to be announced. Hopefully, these 4 episodes will keep our plates warm until then.

The thirteen-episode season 6 hit Netflix on January 15th, 2020, making these the series' first new episodes in nineteen months.

For those not in the know, Grace and Frankie tells the story of 2 women who find themselves unexpectedly single after their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) reveal they've been having an affair together for the past 2 decades.

Despite the unlikely friendship, Grace Hansen, played by Fonda and Frankie Bergstein, played by Tomlin bond over their shared heartbreak, and they become closer and closer as the seasons progress until they run a business together.

The final season will star the core 4 (Fonda, Tomlin, Sheen, and Waterston) alongside June Diane Raphael, Peter Gallagher, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, and Baron Vaughn.

Fonda and Tomlin shared the exciting news in a video released by Netflix.

"We've missed you, but more importantly, you've missed us," Fonda shared in the show's special announcement. "So we're here to announce…."

"Tell them!" Tomlin chimed in.

"As you know, we've been filming the seventh and final season of Grace and Frankie -- that's the second thing! We've got to tell them the first thing," Fonda said before an excited Tomlin jumped in. "If you don't stop talking, I can't tell them anything," Fonda urged.

"You've lost your chance. The first four episodes of season 7 are out now!" Tomlin exclaimed.

"But don't worry, there's plenty more to come. We just wanted to give you something special until we finish the rest of the season," Fonda then said.

In September 2019, Fonda and Tomlin both opened up about how they feel about the series coming to an end sharing that they were both delighted and heartbroken about season seven being the final one.

"We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though the final, season. We're so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well!" Fonda and Tomlin said in a joint statement to ET.

"We'll miss these 2 old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we'll still be around. We've outlasted so many things -- just hope we don't outlast the planet."
