During the current pandemic, cleanliness and sanitization have been key for preventing the spread.
This is the reason that many shops been regularly cleaning surfaces like handles, shopping carts, and baskets.
But this one employee’s approach to cleaning was certainly not the best idea.

A pandemic has taken over.
With things beginning to reopen again.
This is very important because we need to stop the spread of the virus.
Including here in the US.
For example, in some retail stores like Costco, customers are required to wear one. And not to mention public transport.
To provide them with peace of mind.
Not only are they in short supply, after most countries in the world are requiring PPE.
Both for themselves and for essential workers, as they are not being provided with enough.
Particularly when they are worn for a long period of time.
The world seems to be divided on the issue, with lots of people claiming that the masks are in fact only an accessory used to control the masses.
Anti-lockdown protests have been taking place, even since the President shut the country down a few months ago as people would rather “live freely than be oppressed by masks.”
Healthline describes them as “crucial in the fight against the pandemic.” They stressed that this rule is to protect others and not yourself. Wearing a mask reduces the transmission of the disease by at least half.
“Wearing a mask is good for two reasons: It’s going to cut down 95 percent of the breathing that sends the virus up to 6 feet away in a room, and also will reduce fecal/oral transmission by preventing the virus from getting into your nose or mouth” if you touch a contaminated surface and then your face,” Padwick told Healthline. “I think this will slow down the virus a lot.”
Asking customers to wear masks, whilst also ensuring that they are doing all that is possible by keeping their stores as clean as possible.
But with a cloth covered in his own spit.
The incident is reported to have left her feeling “sick.”
She told CityNews that her intention with the video was to show the manager that the shopping baskets weren’t being cleaned properly.
Instead, it showed the employee who was cleaning, spitting on a towel, and then going back to cleaning the baskets with it.
But when she went the next day, she said that she was met with “very bad customer service” adding that: “The [manager] protects his worker. He said he didn’t want to see the video. He didn’t believe me and he treated us very badly.”
She took it to a higher level where she didn’t receive a response for a few days.
A response that should have come quicker.
“I’m furious and very disappointed. We are living in a pandemic…how do you think we feel? This is terrorism for me.”
Instead, he worked for a third-party service provider but was no longer working at the store.
“The health and safety of our customers and teammates is our top priority – that has never been more true than right now, through the COVID-19 pandemic.”
She stressed that a full internal investigation is being launched.
Pandemic or no pandemic, it’s definitely still gross and not what we want to touch.
