We’ve all heard the term “bridezilla.”
There’s something about a wedding that just seems to bring about the worst in people!
Diva demands are a wedding norm.
And many brides are often known to become very difficult when planning their dream wedding.
However, there has to be a limit…
Some brides are known to take things way too far…
However, there are some bridal demands everyone can agree on.
And one such thing is the dress code of the guests.
For some couples, this means no other woman should wear white!
However, Lacey-Jade Christie took to TikTok to disagree…
“I am off to a wedding, here’s my fit,” she wrote on her viral video.
It showed her in a short white dress with a deep-cut neckline.
“Why would you let your friend go out looking a mess,” one commenter wrote.
“I thought it was something she had put on while she was getting ready. Not a good look,” said a second.
“I’d die of embarrassment in that… it’s an absolute disaster on all counts,” offered a third.
“I’d be gutted if someone wore a beach cover-up to my wedding!” a fourth lamented.
“It’s rude: You don’t wear white to a wedding. it’s the bride’s day not yours she’s the one in white,” another added.
However, the TikToker then responded to the trolls…
“All I have taken away from this week is that most people out there are super boring and have never been to a queer wedding,” she said in a follow-up vid.
She also commented on the cruel and fatphobic nature of the critics, saying they commented on the post like “she wasn’t in the room.”
“Everyone in the comments acting like you’re wearing white to THEIR PERSONAL wedding. Not your wedding, not your concern!” one person wrote.
People also pointed out the antiquated nature of the tradition.
“I love how people want all these original weddings yet follow outdated traditions like guests can’t wear white!” said another.
In fact, neither of the brides at this particular wedding were even wearing white. They both wore long sequin gowns, one in red and the other in navy blue.
