A hairdresser has been left horrified after a young girl’s 6-month lice infestation took 9 hours to remove.
Rachel Maroun is a hairdress and lice technician who shares videos treating lice infestations to TikTok.
One of her videos recently went viral after she shared one of the most severe infestations and people couldn’t believe what they were seeing…
One person commented on the video: “How the heck does someone let lice get this bad.”
While another wrote: “Did anyone else automatically start scratching their head.”
According to the Mirror, the video showed a 12-year-old girl whose hair had become overrun with lice as her family was struggling to treat them at home due to her disabilities.
Showing clips of the infestation, Rachel explained that she first wondered if she would have to shave the hair, however, she didn’t want to do that as the girl had long, thick hair.
“I think there were more lice than hair strands on her head,” Rachel said in the video as she showed them on the girl’s clothes and neck.
She then began by combing through the girl’s hair to remove as many of the lice as possible which was a “really painful process.”
Before she then moved on to removing all of the lice eggs.
In total, the girl needed 3 treatments on separate occassions with Rachel in order to remove both the lice and the eggs in full.
And after 3 days of work on her hair, it all paid off as Rachel described the girl’s hair as “beautiful,” “healthy,” and “shiny.”
