The Hollywood icon was clearly blown away by the response to his latest movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The star received a whopping 5-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival…
Which left him visibly emotional.

Harrison Ford has undoubtedly enjoyed many iconic roles.
But it’s Indiana Jones which stands out above the rest.
It’s true that Harrison and Indiana are almost synonymous.
However, over the years there have been whispers of a new Indiana Jones…
But when Ford was asked who he thought could take over Indiana Jones, he went to scorched Earth.
Ford thinks that no actor should take over the role.
And while Ford is, like every American, entitled to his opinion…
The idea that there won’t be another Indiana Jones is harder to swallow than an enormous boulder.
It’s clear fans agree.
Especially after the incredible response he received for the latest movie.

There is one undeniable fact we have to deal with today — every movie is going to get rebooted, and we just have to accept it.
We get sequels at a steady clip.
They tick tick tick on up, each movie making the franchise more and more bloated.
And with each new entry, the pressure builds — when is the bottom gonna drop out?
For a host of reasons, whenever a movie is rebooted, we take it as a personal affront.
Some people think that reboots destroy their childhood. Others think that reboots are a waste of time and that finances could be going to new movies.
But the only people who are really affected by reboots are the actors being replaced.
Movie reboots don’t actually hurt anyone unless they’re actively costing you a paycheck.
Take Andrew Garfield, for example, the dude was just getting into the groove of playing Spider-Man when Tom Holland swooped in and snatched it all away.
Such a bummer.
Which brings us to Harrison Ford…
Now, we don’t know if Ford is in a position to need any more money.
Each Indiana Jones movie that he’s in could buy him at least one entire island upon which he can build himself endless beach houses.
So why is he so possessive over his role?
Well, for a lot of actors, there’s no greater career accomplishment than creating a truly iconic character.
Another mark of a great character is their ability to produce memorable moments, and with Indy, there are a million.
Think about him running from the boulder.
Grabbing the idol. Falling into the snake pit. Being kinda racist to Short Round. The list goes on!
But what about when Ford is no longer around?
Speaking with The Today Show, Ford made it clear who would follow him as Indiana Jones: nobody. (And that position kind of makes sense — look at how goofy anyone besides Harrison Ford looks in that get-up).
When asked who he thought might make a good Indiana Jones once he’s retired, Ford said, “Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones, don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”
We guess the end of Indiana Jones is — like a boulder rolling downhill — inevitable.
But there was one name on everyone’s lips for the next Indy…
Having been rumored for years, the Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt felt like the logical choice to play Indiana Jones next.
In the same Today interview, Ford let the prospective new Indy down as gently as he could, saying, “This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry, man.”
He definitely meant Chris Pratt, and there’s almost no way that Pratt took it well.
More recently, Ford was spotted alongside fellow actor Ke Huy Quan at Disney’s D23 Expo.
Ke Huy Quan has recently had a role in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.
But, for Indiana Jones fans, there’s really only one role Ke Huy Quan is famous for.
Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
And so, when the 2 reunited, it really hit Indy fans in the feels.
“This photo is EVERYTHING!!!” wrote one fan.
“We see all collectively holding onto our potatoes with joy!” joked another.

Since then, Ford has shot back into the spotlight (not that he was ever out of it) for the latest instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise.
And fans were clearly excited to see him back on the big screen.
So much so, that Harrison received a huge standing ovation, lasting five whole minutes.
The 80-year-old actor was visibly emotional by the response, as he held back tears during the applause.
This was also a huge moment for the str as he was awarded an honorary Palme d’Or on Thursday at the pre-release event.
It was presented right before the first public showing and is the most prestigious prize given at the Cannes Film Festival.
“They say when you die, you see your life flash before your eyes. I just saw my life flash before my eyes,” Ford said during his acceptance speech. “A great part of my life, not all of it.”
Disney is set to release “Dial of Destiny” on the week of June 30th.
