Prince Harry has been opening up a lot about his own mental health struggles recently. But one TV host claims to have found a rather suspicious hole in his story…
Earlier this year, Meghan Markle opened up about her mental health struggles as a part of the royal family.
Including revealing that when she asked for help, the “institution” refused.
It was an absolutely shocking claim.
But now Harry’s latest revelations in The Me You Can’t See have some disputing this claim…
Harry opened up a lot during the show.
Safe to say, there have been some strong reactions.
The prince first revealed he’s undergoing treatment for PTSD.
And that requests for the royal family to help him with his mental health were met with “total silence.”
In fact, he accused the royal family of “total neglect.”
And claimed he was “afraid” of returning to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral.
He also spoke out about his history of substance use.
Which he believes began with him trying to “mask” the pain of his mother’s death.
He pointed out another factor in Diana’s death.
The fact she was dating “someone who wasn’t white” at the time.
Over the course of the series, Harry was unusually candid about the death of his mother.
Although what he said has been very controversial to some.
“When my mum was taken away from me at the age of 12, I didn’t want the [royal] life, sharing the grief of my mother’s death with the world.”
“For me, the thing I remember the most was the sound of the horses’ hooves going along the Mall.”
“It was like I was outside of my body and just walking along doing what was expected of me.”
“(I was) showing one tenth of the emotion that everybody else was showing: This was my mum – you never even met her.”
“I was so angry with what happened to her and that there was no justice, at all.”
“Nothing came from that.”
“There was no protection.”
But that’s not all.
Harry also opened up about his relationship with Meghan.
When Harry first met Meghan, he was going through a lot of mental health issues.
“I saw GPs, I saw doctors, I saw therapists, I saw alternative therapists, I saw all sorts of people.”
But there was one thing that made a difference to him.
“It was meeting and being with Meghan.”
“I knew that if I didn’t do the therapy and fix myself that I was going to lose this woman who I could see spending the rest of my life with.”
”I quickly established that if this relationship was going to work, then I was going to have to deal with my past, because there was anger there.”
“And it wasn’t anger at her, it was just anger and she recognized it. She saw it.”
With Meghan’s help, Harry was able to work through his problems.
“So how do I fix this? And it was a case of, ‘You need to go back to the past, back to the point of trauma, deal with it, process it, and then move forward.”
Meghan suggested therapy for Harry.
“When she said, ‘I think you need to see someone,’ it was in reaction to an argument that we had.”
And it was at therapy that Harry started unpacking all his childhood trauma.
“The moment I started therapy — it was probably within my second session — my therapist turned around to me and said, ‘That sounds like you reverting to 12-year-old Harry.'”
“I felt somewhat ashamed and defensive. Like, ‘How dare you? You’re calling me a child.’ And she goes, ‘No, I’m not calling you a child. I’m expressing sympathy and empathy for you for what happened to you when you were a child.'”
“That was the start of a learning journey for me. I became aware that I’d been living in a bubble within this family, within this institution, and I was sort of almost trapped in a thought process or a mindset.”
But Andrew Bolt from Sky News Australia noticed a problem with this story.
“Didn’t she say in her notorious interview with Oprah Winfrey that when she wanted to go see a therapist herself Buckingham Palace refused her permission?” he asked.
“Prince Harry, the actual prince could get therapy but his wife could not?”
And royal commentator Daisy Cousens agreed.
“It is pretty extraordinary, I didn’t actually pick that up until you mentioned it.”
“That is very well spotted because there is a giant disconnect there between the two stories. Quite a slip of the tongue from Harry.”
“The whole big point they made in the interview was that the Palace would not let Meghan get any therapy because they thought it would look bad.”
“I am sorry but if this is true why would Prince Harry be allowed to get therapy?”
What do you think – is this a revealing slip-up?
