Here's Why Chrissy Teigen Is Boycotting Twitter's New 280 Character Limit | 22 Words

Has Twitter gone mad? We thought they had things pretty much figured out, but then they did something shocking. They gave everyone the ability to tweet using 280 characters! Do they even realize how many words that is? It’s this long, guys. This paragraph could have been a tweet.

Apparently, Chrissy Teigen isn't super happy about it.

In case you missed it, Twitter rolled out its new 280 character limit to nearly every user this week.

That's right, Twitter just becameΒ twice as informative, funny, or annoying (depending on who you're following). What a time to be alive!

A lot of people have celebrated the news in the best way possible: with jokes! Take Cookie Monster, for instance:

That guy clearly knows what he's doing. As far as we're concerned, he should have had 280 cookies/characters to tweet with from the very beginning.

Some people, however, are not super thrilled about the new development. Namely, Internet darling Chrissy Teigen.

She shared a tweet claiming to be staunchly anti-280 characters. You want her attention? You're gonna have to get it in 140 characters (or fewer). And honestly, we kinda get it. Twitter can be a nasty place (when it's not full of hilarious memes).

But then, Teigen soon appeared to crumble under the pressure.

And we meanΒ soon. Her next tweet occurred not even five hours later. Which is just enough time to come across enough hilarious 280-character tweets and realize that maybe β€” justΒ maybe β€” it's actually a good thing.

Alas, Teigen's boycott was apparently not meant to be.

On the bright side, we can now apparently look forward to twice as much hilarious content from Teigen. And that, friends, is really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really great news.
