Amazingly, the pair managed to keep their engagement a secret for a whopping 2 years before they tied the knot.

Swank opened up to Vogue about the first time they met, revealing it was a blind date.

“It was a blind date set up by actor Misha Collins’s wife Vicki and another close friend Jean. We met at 10 am and parted ways at 11 pm,” Swank revealed. “We clearly enjoyed our time!”

They got engaged just over a year later.

Discussing her wedding venue, Swank said: “We found exactly what we were looking for at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California.” Adding: “It’s a stunning private community surrounded by 20,000 acres of conservancy and an intimate redwood grove populated with trees that are over 800 years old.”

And now, just 4 years after they said ‘I do,’ they’re expecting twins!

And the news has left everyone ecstatic.

Fans were thrilled to hear she’s expecting…

One Facebook user wrote: “God Bless! I watched her announcement on Kelly and Ryan this morning. Congratulations!”

However, some were concerned for her unborn children, with one writing: “48, she will be almost 66 by the time they are 18yo. She’ll be 54 or 55 when the kids start school. Grandma.”

But another chimed in showing support for her, writing: “I’m sure she and the babies will be fine. As long as she’s in good health and sees her OB at the proper times, takes her prenatal. There’s no reason why those babies would have any problems.”

The forty-eight-year-old star was promoting her new drama, Alaska Daily when she opened up about the exciting news.

Host Robin Roberts said: “We hear that you have something that you’d like to share with us.”

“Yeah, I do. And I’m so happy to share it with you and with America right now,” Swank replied.

“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time.”

“My next thing is I’m gonna be a mom!” Swank shared.

“I’m gonna be a mom, and not just of one, but of two!”

“I can’t believe it!” she added. “It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.”

This will be Swank’s first child with entrepreneur Philip Schneider.

She further opened up on Live with Kelly and Ryan after GMA, sharing that she’s “feeling great right now.”

Describing how she feels about having twins, she said that they run in both her and her husband’s families and described her pregnancy as “such a blessing.”

“It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable,” she said.

The news comes after Swank’s interview with You Magazine in 2020 in which she revealed that she feels “maternal.”

“I feel that I’m very maternal in the people that I care for and all the sentient beings I have around me — my dogs, my horses or just the human beings.

“And I feel like so much of the time women who either choose not to or can’t have children are somehow seen as not maternal or not mothering and it is a conversation that needs to be had, because… I’ve heard a lot of women say that they’ve been told: ‘Oh, you’re kind of a failure.’ Or, you know: ‘Didn’t you come here to procreate?’ There are so many different ways to procreate!” she said.

Since then, fans have got an exciting update on Swank’s pregnancy…

According to Page Six, the twins are to be born roughly around the same date as Swank’s late father, Stephen Michael Swank.

“They’re due on his birthday,” she said during her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

“My dad, he was one of my favorite people in the world,” the star gushed of her dad Stephen Swank, who died in October 2021.

“It is kind of this tribute of life with them being born on this birthday. … It’s all aligning,” she said.

Swank was also asked how her father would have reacted to the news, and she said: “He would be happy, elated for me.”

“He just wanted me to have everything I wanted in my life, so I know it would be something that would bring him a lot of joy to see me in so much joy,” she said.

“Yeah, I know. It’s like, wow,” Swank said.

In an interview with Extra, Swank got candid about her pregnancy journey.

She explained she was “feeling better” after bouts of morning sickness.

“My friends tell me when you have double [on the way], it doubles the hormones, doubles the sickness, doubles the everything,” she said.

Swank noted that she’s thought about being a mom since she was a “young girl.”

“It’s something that was on my mind, so it’s nice to be here and just be pregnant,” she added.

Swank previously spoke to PEOPLE about her plans of having a family in the future after she married her then husband, Chad Lowe.

“I definitely would like kids someday.

“That’s definitely something that I’ve always thought about as a very, very young girl,” she said.

The actress married Lowe in 1997 and stayed with him for almost a decade.

But, she filed for divorce from him in 2006, and it became final in 2007.

Swank also explained her decision to wait until age forty-eight to have children.

“I was having a career and not having the right relationship until … four years ago, and all the elements needed to come together and be right,” she said.

And this weekend, Swank shared the news the internet had been waiting for.

“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it. Happy Easter! Posting from pure Heaven,” she wrote on Instagram.
