As President Biden addressed congress last night, history was made by the presence of Vice President Kamala Harris and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Now, this isn't the first time these trailblazing women have made history.
In 2007, Pelosi became the first woman to serve as speaker of the House, which is second in line to succeed the president.
After being handed the House gavel by her pre successor, John Boehner, she said:
"It is a historic moment for the Congress and a historic moment for the women of this country. It is a moment for which we have waited over 200 years. For our daughters and granddaughters, today we have broken the marble ceiling. For our daughters and our granddaughters, the sky is the limit, anything is possible for them."
She made history again in January 2019 after regaining her position as speaker...
Becoming the first person to do so in more than sixty years.
And as for Vice President Kamala Harris?
Well, I think you'll all be aware of her record-setting career by now.
When she was inaugurated earlier this year, Harris became the first woman vice president...
As well as the first Black person and first person of Asian descent to hold the office.
In her first speech as vice president, Harris paid tribute to the women across the country – and throughout history – who had made her achievement possible.
"I reflect on their struggle, their determination, and the strength of their vision, to see what can be, unburdened by what has been," she said. "I stand on their shoulders."
Harris then vowed:
"While I may be the first woman in this office... I will not be the last, because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities."
And now, 3 months on from the inauguration, both Harris and Pelosi have made history once again.
As he addressed congress last night, President Biden was flanked by the 2 women, a first in the history of presidential speeches.
People have been reacting with joy since the historic speech took place...
