But with the help of the talking cat, Binx, who also thinks Max is a bit of an idiot, the children take down the sisters.

This film received mixed reviews at the time, but it has definitely grown on audiences over the years.

And now, everyone can't help but watch it over and over - a fun film for all the family.

And things have just got even better with the new announcement.

Rumors of the new movie started all the way back in 2017, when the original screenwriter, Mick Garris, said that he had heard rumors of Hocus Pocus 2 moving ahead as a movie, with a script already in development.

Shortly afterward, Disney made the official confirmation that a second film was in the works...

But they said that it would be a reboot rather than a direct sequel.

However, October 2019 brought the news that Hocus Pocus 2 would indeed be a sequel to the original...

And it will be available to watch on Disney's new streaming service, Disney+. They really love to toy with our emotions, don't they?

It has already been confirmed that the original 3 witches will be returning to the big screen.

Back in May, Sarah Jessica Parker, who played the role of Sarah Sanderson, confirmed that the 3 Sanderson sisters will indeed be returning, as will her co-stars, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy.

However, since Parker made the comments...

We have been waiting eagerly to hear from any other members of the cast.

And now, months after her co-stars revealation, Bette Midler has finally broken her silence.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, Midler, seventy-four, said that she would "absolutely" be up for reprising her iconic role as Winifred Sanderson.

She also added that she "can't wait to fly again"...

Making reference to her broom-stick-dwelling days.

However, Midler wanted to clarify that nothing is set in stone just yet.

Though the studio hasn't officially confirmed the original stars' involvement in the movie, Midler added to ET, "We're just talking logistics."

For now, we can only reminisce about the old classic.

And based on the latest stats, it seems plenty of us are doing just that ...

Because, this weekend, nearly thirty years after its first release ...

Hocus Pocus was the second most-watched film at the North American box office!

The movie brought in a whopping $1,925,000 across 2,570 theaters, raking in about $749 per theater.
