Tropical vacation destinations and puppies – They’re two of the finer things in life, aren’t they? While we’re stuck on the hum-drum of the rainy 9-5, we’re dreaming of exotic vacations in which we can tan, swim… and play with cute dogs all day long. Obviously.

Well, this dream is a reality for visitors to one hotel in Bali. And, like a lot of places in the beautiful Indonesian island, it is extremely good value.

The hotel in question has introduced a new concept known as “Puppy Therapy” as a de-stressor for guests… And it’s highly effective, to say the least. Keep scrolling to read more about the new craze… Or to just stare at pictures of cute puppies. It’s your call.

Hawaii is out, Bali is in. The past couple of years has seen a boom in the popularity of the Indonesian island, with more Americans choosing to fly a little further out for their summer vacations.

Rolling rice terraces, sandy white beaches, and scenic volcanoes, just to name a few.

Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxing on the beach, or swinging above the trees like George of the Jungle, Bali is guaranteed to have something for everyone.

Whether you feel like hiking up an active volcano (it’s a no from us…), or scuba diving with Manta Rays, there’s always some kind of adrenaline-packed action on offer in Bali.

You won’t struggle to find your zen on this island.

You didn’t go if you didn’t Instagram it, right? Bali is renown for its affordable, yet lavish, hostels and hotels, with some that are so aesthetically beautiful that it’ll be difficult to leave.

There’s only one thing that can make this tropical paradise any better, and that’s dogs.

For years, the Indonesian island has had a growing issue with the number of stray dogs living on its streets, and the pups often steal the hearts of tourists.

Various organizations dedicate their time to re-homing and building sanctuaries and shelters for the growing number of stray dogs living on the streets.

Puri Garden Hotel & Hostel, which is based in Ubud, have partnered with the charity, Bali Dogs Association, whom they regularly donated money to, in order to provide both the dogs and the guests with some much needed TLC.

It provides daily yoga classes, free breakfasts every morning, pool-side massages (yes please), regular BBQ nights, and traditional Balinese dancing.

Vacationers and backpackers alike have been flocking to the boutique hostel, which has since been voted one of the “most luxurious hostels in the world” on

The hotel now hosts regular “Puppy Therapy” sessions. And they’re free! The sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Guests can play and cuddle with the pups to their hearts’ content!

All while providing the strays with the love and attention that they’ve been desperately lacking.

Both the guests and the pups are truly living their best lives. Let’s face it, there’s nothing better than a little sunshine and puppy love to bring our stress levels down.

Speaking to the Mail Online, the hostel’s owner, Daniel Silva, said, “We saw the benefits for the dogs spending time with the people to help them to be ready for their forever home, and it is a special experience for our guests.”

The puppies that are donated to the sessions are in the process of being rehomed. So, it is hoped that human interaction and attention will prepare the strays for domestic life.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out, does it? Dogs have been used to treat an array of different conditions, such as PTSD and ADHD.

Sun, sea, and… dogs? The perfect recipe for a relaxing vacation. Excuse us while we hastily book flights to Bali…

An absolute steal, to say the least.
