Roald Dahl’s classic kids book The Witches has long been a creepy yet enthralling childhood fave. But now it’s become an incredible real-life experience, and the team behind it are looking for one very special employee…

The original Witches movie became an instant classic.

And alongside the incredible cast and campy aesthetics, there was one primary reason for its success – the setting.

The Headland Hotel, which overlooks Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, played host to the witches convention at the heart of the film.

And for mega fans of the movie? Well, as the Grand High Witch once said:

The Headland is opening its doors this year for a month of spooky spectacle, all based around the terrifying scenes from the 1990 classic.

But it gets even better …

Because the hotel is seeking one very special employee for their venture.

Someone to play the role of the Grand High Witch, full time.

They’ll spend their days scaring guests – and, of course, turning any wayward children into white mice.

“The Witches is close to our hearts here at The Headland and every October, we like to celebrate the film with a spooky Afternoon Tea tribute,” said director Veryan Palmer, as per The Metro.

“This year we’d like a Grand High Witch who will evoke the spectacular effect that Anjelica Huston created for her role of the Grand High Witch in Roald Dahl’s The Witches.”

“My ex mother in law would fit in great!” jokes one Facebook user.
