‘House Of The Dragon’ Star Emma D’Arcy Makes GQ Men Of The Year List

Marisa Abela.

Abela is best known for her work in the HBO series Industry, where she plays the role of Yasmin, a young graduate competing for a permanent position at an investment bank in London.

She has quickly become one of the most bankable breakout stars.

What’s shocking is she initially planned to study History and Law at UCL, but changed her mind and went on to pursue acting, later graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2019.

Sheila Atim.

The Ugandan-British actress made her acting debut in 2013 at Shakespeare’s Globe, performing in the musical The Lightning Child.

As well as performing on stage, she is also a singer and has composed songs for several productions since the start of her career.

Not to mention she has been cast in a handful of television series, such as Netflix’s sports drama Bruised, BBC’s The Pale Horse , and Amazon’s The Underground Railroad.

Devlin is a sculptural artist and stage designer whose works have appeared in London’s Bush Theatre, the National Theatre, London Design Festival, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

As well as this, Devlin has made stage sculptures for some of the most successful names in the music industry.

Collaborating with the likes of Beyoncé, Kanye West, Adele, U2, The Weeknd, Lorde, and Pet Shop Boys, just to name a few.

Leon Edwards.

Edwards is a professional mixed martial artist and the current UFC Welterweight Champion.

He began MMA fighting when he was seventeen as a way out of the crime pathway he was slowly headed towards.

Sir Mo Farah.

The British long-distance runner has won 10 championship gold medals in his career, comprising 4 Olympic and 6 World titles.

His abilities are unmatched, making him the most successful male track distance runner ever

Stephen Graham.

Graham is a British actor best know for playing Andrew “Combo” Gascoigne in the 2006 cult classic This Is England.

More recently, Graham has appeared as Al Capone in the HBO series

Myha’la Herrold.

Herrold is an American actress best known for her role in the British drama Industry, where she plays the young graduate Harper Stern.  

Her part as Jordan in the comedic horror Bodies Bodies Bodies was also a huge success.

Sharon Horgan.

Horgan is a writer, director, comedian, and producer from Ireland, best known for creating the hit HBO comedy series Divorce which aired between 2016–2019.

Horgan also starred in and co-wrote the comedies Pulling (2006–2009) and Catastrophe (2015–2019).

Michael Imperioli.

Imperioli is best known for his role in the HBO crime drama The Sopranos (1999–2007), in which he played mobster Christopher Moltisanti. He also gained popularity for playing Spider in 1990s Goodfellas.

David Jonsson.

Jonsson is another one of HBO’s Industry talents on GQ’s list.

Talking about how he got into acting, he revealed: “My mom was like, ‘What do you want to do with your life?’ And she was like, ‘You can either go and box’ – because at the time I used to box in a local gym – ‘or what else?’ And I was like, ‘I want to act’. And she was like, ‘Okay’. I guess that’s how I fell into it.”

He then went on to receive a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) from Warner Bros., and the rest is history.

Lee is an actor and filmmaker from South Korea, his appearance in Netflix’s hit drama Squid Game catapulted him into the spotlight.

So much so, he’s one of the most successful actors in South Korea.

For his roles over the years, he’s received numerous recognition, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Critics’ Choice Television Award, as well as nominations for a Golden Globe and a Gotham Award.

Harry Lawtey.

Lawtey is best known for playing Robert Spearing in the HBO series Industry.

His passion for acting began at a young age, and by thirteen, he went from aspiring theatre kid to auditioning for Sylvia Young drama school and getting in.

Louis Theroux.

The British journalist needs little introduction. After starting out his career as a journalist for Metro Silicon Valley here in the US he later transitioned to TV.

This is where he began to get big, with his own documentaries for the BBC, starting out with Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, When Louis Met…, and most recently Forbidden America.

Joseph Quinn.

Quinn is best known for his role as the lovable metalhead Eddie Munson in season 4 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

Before his breakthrough role, Quinn appeared in the British TV shows Dickensian (2016), Howards End (2017), and Catherine the Great (2019).

Ashley Walters.

Walters, whose stage name is Asher D, is a British rapper, songwriter, and actor who has appeared in a variety of TV shows such as Grange HillDoctor Who, and Silent Witness, just to name a few.

He’s best known for his role as Dushane in Top Boy.

Ben Whishaw.

Whishaw is a British actor and producer, whose breakout role in Criminal Justice (2008) won him an International Emmy Award and his first BAFTA Award nomination.

When it comes to his movie accomplishments, he’s probably best known for playing tech-savvy Q in Daniel Craig’s James Bond franchise.

Recently he went on to appear as Patrick “Rabbi” Milligan in the fourth season of Fargo. And this year starred in the BBC drama series This Is Going to Hurt.

Last, but certainly not least we have Emma D’Arcy, who has secured a spot on GQ’s honorary list.

D’Arcy, who identifies as non-binary, is best known for their role as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the hit Game of Thrones spin-off series House of the Dragon based on George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood.

They are fairly new to the acting scene, and before this colossal role, appeared in the BBC drama Wanderlust (2018)…
