Stern has appeared in several shows.

He appeared in America Got Talent, The Howard Stern Radio, and The Howard Stern Show, only to name a few.

Stern has achieved an impressive amount of success in his career with his hit shows.

And his current net worth, according to wealthygorilla.com, stands at $650 million as of November 2022.

But how did he reach this success?

Let’s find out…

Born on January 12, 1954, in Roosevelt, New York, Stern has been known for his controversial broadcasting.

He can thank all of his success to his dad, who introduced radio to him.

Stern’s father, Ben Stern, worked as a sound engineer.

He was introduced to radio at a very young age and started producing his own show on a small tape recorder.

Since then, Hern has kept the dream alive of working in radio. He ended up working at the radio station at his university.

Stern attended Boston University, where he was working to get his Communications degree.

By 1976, Stern had finally earned himself a degree.

Since graduating, he landed on-the-air jobs in Hartford, Connecticut, Detroit, and Michigan.

With Sterns deprecating jokes; provocative interviews with lesbians; commentary on s*x and celebrities, the radio program became an instant sensation, topping the number 1 radio program in D.C.

Eventually, both Stern and Quivers were fired due to a dispute with station management.

But it wasn’t over for Stern…

In 1985, Stern got his breakthrough.

The Howard Stern Show started airing in ’85 on New York City’s WXRK-FM.

Stern’s humor, which has been criticized over the years, gained him huge success.

Stern started drawing a lot of public attention…

As well as the Federal Communications Commission (also known as FCC).

By the late 90s, the FCC fined more than $2 million against the program due to its inappropriate content.

It also led various groups of people to boycott the show.

However, Stern was in no way ready to change his show despite the fine and being boycotted.

The constant backlash he received led Stern to sign a 5-year, $500 million deal with Sirius Satellite Radio in 2004.

The company was not subject to FCC regulations concerning language and content.

His first show since signing the 5-year deal aired on January 9, 2006, and the relationship proved profitable enough for both parties that Stern re-signed with Sirius on several occasions.

There’s no denying that Stern has become a legend in his field of work despite the ups and downs he’s had in his long career.

But over the past few months, Stern has been getting himself under the spotlight…

And it’s mainly to do with him calling out other celebrities.

Last month, Stern called out Kanye West over his social media outbursts.

And asked why no one had stepped in to protect Kanye.

He took a jibe at the rapper following his ongoing rants on social media and asked, “Why he doesn’t have a conservatorship, like Britney Spears?”

In particular, Stern spoke about Kanye recent comment about Jewish people and said it’s not right for anyone to defend him, regardless of his mental health problems.

According to Mediate, he said: “You gotta hear the s**t this guy’s into and f**k this mental illness, self-defense thing that he’s into, you know, like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s just mentally ill. Don’t worry about it.'”

He continued: “If he’s so mentally ill. Why don’t they appoint a conservator over his money like they did with the poor Britney Spears?”

After hearing all of Kanye antisemitic rants on social media…

Stern couldn’t take it anymore.

Enough was enough, and he went for the mother of all insults…

“This is so depressing. I mean, Kanye used to be fun crazy. Now he’s like Hitler,” Stern said.

That was just 1 of many celebrities Stern took a jibe at.

More recently, Stern focused his attention on the famous talk-show host Oprah Winfrey.

He called out Winfrey for showing off her lavish lifestyle on social media.

It all went down during his radio show on Monday.

“Oprah’s not embarrassed by her wealth at all,” Stern said.

“She loves showing it off on Instagram. It’s f****** mind-blowing when you follow her on Instagram, you see her estates, her gardens, the people who service her.”

Robin Quivers, Stern’s co-host, jokingly added: “Service her? She’s not a car.”

Stern responded, keeping the joke alive: “Well, she kind of is. She’s got servants and like people cooking and it’s f******* wild. She knows how to be rich… but she kind of likes to show it off, which is something I’m not comfortable with.

“I don’t think that people should show off their wealth.”

Quiver added: “Let’s put it this way, Oprah’s just showing you her life. She’s not showing off.”

Stern responded: “Well, you gotta be a little self-aware and know that there are people struggling out there, Robin.

  via Getty Images

“You got to. You gotta kind of think about people who don’t have — to eat. You know what I’m saying? I mean, come on. You gotta be a little bit aware of this.”

After hearing Stern’s comment about Winfrey, people took to social media to slam the radio host…

One user wrote: “So… is Howard Stern mad at all wealthy people or just Oprah? He talking about Oprah flaunting her wealth bc she has people cooking for her when folks are out here struggling. Bezos built a spaceship and went to space off the backs of his employees. Is Stern mad at him?”

While a second added: “Hilarious. @HowardStern is worth $650 million, has a $20M house in the Hamptons, a $20M two-floor penthouse in Manhattan and a $65M mansion in Palm Beach — and HE’S bashing Oprah?!”
