Hugh Jackman has been in the headlines a LOT recently, specifically when it comes to his personal life.
Last month, he announced some shocking news.

The actor and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have announced that they’re ending their marriage.
Deborra-Lee has spoken publicly for the first time.

And what she had to say has shocked the internet.
But now, Jackman has made his own revelation.

He’s writing a memoir all about the split …
Hugh Jackman is an incredibly well-loved actor.

The actor shot to fame for his on-going role as Wolverine in the X-Men movies.
Jackman reprised the role for many years.

But eventually it came to an end in 2017.
Jackman’s other well known roles include Jean Valjean in the 2012 musical, Les Miserables…

And, of course, who could forget his role as P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman back in 2017.
It’s safe to say that Jackman has had an incredibly successful career…

But, it appears that Jackman isn’t the only incredibly successful person in his family…
Jackman’s wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, received one of the highest honors on Australia Day.

And it mels people’s hearts…
Furness was named as an Officer of the Order of Australia (OA) in the Australia Day Honors list.

According to 7News, Furness has been recognised with the honor for her service to children as an adoption advocate, her service as an ambassador to not-for-profit organizations, and to the arts.
For many years, Furness has campaigned to change adoption laws.

On the Future Women’s Drive podcast back in 2020, Furness said she was determined to help children find safe homes.
“I had to really sit and think about, like, ‘Am I doing the right thing?'” she said.

“And I did all my work and I looked at it and thought, ‘No, these children need a home.’ I just kept going.”
Furness also explained that it was never her intention to become an advocate for adoption.

“I reached out and tried to just add my two bob’s worth and just by talking about it, I thought it’ll get attention,” she said. “I thought the people in the community would take over.”
Taking to Instagram to praise his wife for the honor, Jackman said he was “so proud.”

“Today she was named an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia,” he wrote. “For almost 30 years, I’ve witnessed first hand her endless generosity and commitment to service.”
“Her intolerance for injustice, and her heart which is as large as our great country.”

“Today everyone else gets to understand and appreciate her incredible work.
As for her service to the arts, the breadth and depth of her work is extraordinary,” he wrote.

Before adding that she is also “the greatest actress I have worked with.”
In fact, it seems doing good runs in the family.

As Jackman has recently also made an incredibly generous donation to charity!
He donated the hat he wore in Broadway’s The Music Man.

And it was sold at a charity auction benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The hat was then bought by Nicole Kidman for a whopping $100,000!

“The generosity emanating from #NicoleKidman leaves me speechless! You ARE amazing. Thank you for your friendship and support!” Jackman wrote.
“Nic! I just want to be clear, this is not Australian dollars,” he then joked.

“I’ve known Nic for almost 30 years. I’ve worked with her. I can tell you, this is not a surprise. She’s one of the most generous souls I know. You’re a beautiful, beautiful person. I love you.”
Kidman responded: “I love you, I love Broadway.

“I love what they do, Broadway Cares. But I also want to say the show was extraordinary.”
“Broadway Cares is blessed with friends across Broadway,” the charity said in a statement.

“But we have no greater champion than Hugh Jackman. This extraordinary gift from his pal Nicole Kidman is by far the largest donation for any one auction item ever. There is much for which to be grateful this Thanksgiving weekend!”

He recently shared some rather less positive news.
He’s shared with the internet that he’s had a skin cancer scare.

“Hey, guys. So, I wanted you to hear it from me just in case someone sees me on the street or whatever,” he began.
“I’ve just had two biopsies done. I just went to my doctor, who’s awesome.”

“I’ll find out in two or three days and as soon as I know, I’ll let you know.”
“Just to remind you, Basal Cell in the world of skin cancers is the least dangerous of them all.”

“Please wear sunscreen. It is just not worth it,” he said.
“No matter how much you want to tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.”

“Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there, alright? Please be safe.”
“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be,” he wrote in the caption.

“And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy.”

But now, it’s his marriage thats making headlines.
Him and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have announced that they’re ending their marriage after 27 years together.

In a statement to PEOPLE, they said “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.’
‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives,’ the statement continued.

Channel Seven presenter Cooper Lawrence has offered her insight into the split.
“Here’s my theory: Oscar’s 23, and Ava is 18,” she said, as per Daily Mail.

“So I think they were waiting until the kids were old enough that they can have an amicable split and not worry about child custody or how much everybody’s going to pay each other every month.”
“When you split up the kids, and they’re young, that’s the stuff that usually messes up a divorce.”

“They don’t have to worry about that because the kids are older. So now they can just split their multi-millions and split all their properties.”
Deborra-Lee has spoken publicly for the first time since the split.

Australian radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson of the “The Kyle & Jackie O Show” accidentally phoned her during a show, as per Daily Mail.
“We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well,” they said.

She simply responded, “Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet.”
And now, it’s been reported that Jackman is writing a memoir about the split.

A source has confirmed this news with US Weekly.
Saying: “The content will be Hugh speaking about his life. He’ll be opening up about his life like never before. It’s been very healing for him.”

And as for when it’ll be out? “He’s in the early stages of writing it,” the source confirmed.
