Iconic Mexican Entertainer Vicente Fernandez Dies Aged 81

Vicente Fernandez has sadly passed away at the age of eighty-one years old.

Mexican singer, actor, and film producer, Vincente Fernandez was an icon for many, and an inspiration for all.

The heartbreaking news of his passing was posted to his Instagram account yesterday after he passed away at 6:15 am in the morning.

“Rest in Peace Mr. Vicente Fernández,” the caption read.

“We regret to inform you of his death on Sunday, December 12 at 6:15 am.

“It was an honor and a great pride to share with everyone a great musical career and to give everything for his audience. Thank you for continuing to applaud, thank you for continuing to sing,” it finished.

According to the New York Times, he was hospitalized after a spinal injury in August, but, his Instagram account gave no reason for his passing yesterday.

All we know is that, Vicente is going to be missed by everybody.

The singer recorded over fifty albums, selling over 50 million copies worldwide.

His songs consisted largely of the Rancheras genre, which is the traditional music of Mexico, and explores the themes of love, patriotism, and nature.

The singing sensation earned 3 Grammy awards and 8 Latin Grammy awards.

His love for music was like no other, even performing on stage just after he found out his father had passed away in 1970.

His personality was so infectious, leaving an imprint on millions of people around the world.

And the song that shot him to fame, ‘Volver Volver,’ written in 1972, received 140, 757, 363 views on Youtube, and is about someone going back to a lover who was a part of their past.

But he wasn’t just a singing sensation, he was a devoted husband to Maria del Refugio Abarca Villaseñor, and a wonderful father to his 4 children, Alejandro, Vicente Jr, Gerardo, and Alejandra.

Many people across the world were devastated by the stars passing, with singer George Strait branding him as his hero in a tribute post on Twitter, too.

“Sad news today. We lost The amazing legendary Vicente Fernández this morning. One of my heroes. May he Rest In Peace and may God bless and comfort his family. Hasta la Cruz Chente!!” he wrote.

And 50,000 people sang ‘Volver Volver’ at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles yesterday, as well.

Vicente Fernandez, you were, and always will be an icon to all.
