Iggy was always known as Amethyst Amelia Kelly.

And when she joined a "girl band" with 2 other girls in her neighborhood, she decided she wanted to pursue a career in singing and rapping.

When she was a teenager, she knew she wanted to move to America.

This encouraged Iggy to drop out of high school and take up cleaning jobs to save up the money for her journey to the States.

She made the big move back in 2006 just before she turned sixteen...

In her eyes, America was the home of hip-hop and that's exactly the kind of music she was interested in.

It took the singer a few years to settle properly in the States...

And when she was settled in Atlanta for a few years, she worked with a member of rap collective Dungeon Family named Backbone. During that period, she met future collaborators FKi and Natalie Sims.

It wasn't until 2011 when Iggy released her first full-length project - a mixtape titled Ignorant Art.

Over the years, she went on to release music videos for her tracks which gained her a lot of attention.

In 2014 after numerous tour dates, Iggy released The New Classic.

This album attained the highest number for a female rapper's debut album since Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday.

Following this album release...

Iggy collaborated with stars such as Arianna Grande with "Problem" and Jennifer Lopez with "Booty."

And later that year...

Her single "Fancy" reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, with Azalea being the fourth solo female rapper ever to top the Hot 100.

As the years as passed, Iggy has continued to dominate the hip-hop scene...

She has released iconic albums such as Digital Distortion, Survive the Summer, and In My Defense.

So it's safe to say...

The Australian-born singer has made quite a career for herself.

She has also dabbled in modeling...

And she has become known for her impossibly perfect hourglass figure.

But what about her personal life?

In 2011, she began dating rapper A$AP Rocky but their romance only lasted for one year. She then began a relationship with NBA player Nick Young in 2013, and even though the pair were engaged, they split in 2016 after Nick was caught bragging about cheating on her.

But since 2016...

Iggy has been in a relationship with rapper Playboi Carti.

The pair seem perfect for each other.

Playboi shared details about his relationship with Iggy in an interview with Fader, including that the couple had moved in together in December 2019. "Once I started talking to her, I just cut off everybody. It was over with," he told the outlet. "I support everything she does."

And it seems that the couple have taken that next step forward...

Because Iggy just announced to her fans that she's just had a baby.

Back in December 2019, rumors began circulating that the singer was expecting...

However, Iggy did take to social media to share a photo of herself in a red bikini, seemingly shutting down the pregnancy rumors.

She did a very good job in keeping her pregnancy a secret.

On Wednesday, she took to her Instagram story to announce the news. "I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize that I'm always going to feel anxious to share the news that giant with the world. I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words."

Congratulations to the happy family!
