Netflix Star Jahmil French Dies Aged 29 | 22 Words

The heartbreaking news has just come in that Jahmil French has passed away...

He was just twenty-nine-years-old.

Of course, this terrible news has triggered a huge reaction online; with floods of tributes and condolences being sent in for the young actor.

Now, we probably all know Jahmil French best from his role as Dave Turner in Degrassi: The Next Generation.

The Canadian actor starred on Degrassi from 2009 - 2013; a role that would propel him further to stardom.

This groundbreaking role earned Jahmil a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Performance in a Children's or Youth Program or Series at the 1st Canadian Screen Awards in 2013...

And of course, it lead to so much more for the young man.

Jahmil had a recurring role in the 2008 series Flashpoint...

And he also starred in the 2016 movie Boost and Netflix's Soundtrack.

So as you can see...

The young actor had an awful lot going for him.

Which is what makes today's news all the more heartbreaking.

On March 2nd, Jahmil's rep confirmed that the actor has passed away at the age of twenty-nine.

It was the news that nobody was expecting.

"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of a dear friend and client Jahmil French," the statement started by saying.

"He will be remembered by many for his passion for the arts, his commitment to his craft, and his vibrant personality. I ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time."

Producer Joshua Safran also shared the heartbreaking news on social media.

​"I can confirm my good friend, co-worker, and all-around inspiration, Jahmil French, passed away yesterday. Only posting because I see the story getting out there. I will have more to say about him later. Right now we're all just processing this devastating news."

At the time of writing, it is unknown as to what caused Jahmil's tragic death...
